I agree, they picked a bad time to have a sudden two month delay. With SPL and Slatedigital releasing comperable products within a few weeks, they look like they are going to miss out the party........

They've at least actually released a product before. So how is that behind? They're also not on the boards everyday telling us how awesome they're unreleased products are. That's a plus to me.

This "who's gonna win the race" concept makes me wanna wretch. And it's illogical. Ideally, if you perceive a competitive market as a consumer, wouldn't you want to wait and see what each has to offer? - c

I mean, yea that's a bummer that they've had to move/change the release date. But, as previously stated, this company actually has released the products they said they will in the past, and hasn't spend time constantly keeping the hype factory spinning only to remain perpetually vague on the concrete details. Rim and the gang are definitely not going to dick us around on this.

Drumagog 5 is reworked together with the Fraunhofer Institute. Consequently I would´nt bet my money on anything short of "brilliant" as a result. But I own Drumagog and the company seriously let me down and i´m unable to use it anymore! I had my computer serviced for harddrive problems. As a result my authorisation got corrupted. All attempts to get Drumagog going again failed. The company was kind enough to give me details of the necessary procedures of which..NONE. worked. Well that´s another 500 bucks down the drain. I never have this kind of problem with companies that use Ilok! It was a very timeconsuming and frustrating experience which let me to the conclusion that there is 2 types of companies, 1. makes it easy for their customer, 2. makes it easy for themselves. Drumagog falls into category 2 for me. |

I think for me the winner will go to the one that actually triggers the sample at the same time as the original transient. I am really tired of having to go through and line it all back up once I have bounced the file.

I think this round, all 3 contenders will trigger the samples in phase. For me, it comes down to my existing library of GOG files. SPL's Xchanger looks cool, but the current library with the demo is not really useable for me, and it's gonna be a little while before their library expands, along with 3rd party. Have never liked Slate's drum samples, so I'm not really interested in Trigger, as it's sure to only have Slate style pop/rock samples available for some time. I'm not interested in spending time making my own multi-samples for any of them. So it means more than likely, I'll go with Drumagog 5 when it's out. I can still use all my GOG libraries, and there's plenty more available right now from 3rd partys. Drumagog FTW. |

Thanks, everyone for the support. You won't be disapointed with Drumagog 5. escape, I'm sorry to hear about the trouble. Why don't you e-mail me directly - I'll be sure to get you up and running again. rim@drumagog.com Drumagog 5 will have the option of using either iLok or challenge response, BTW. Thanks, Rim Buntinas WaveMachine Labs, Inc. |

decisions! i absolutely love my steven slate samples so part of me wants to support their new product. but i've used drumagog for so long and it has never failed me. both gui's look awesome. and i am a little bored of the old drumagog interface. the old gog/sample viewer can be really annoying when i'm trying to scroll through the slate samples to find one i like. it looks nice to have the visual sampler on the same screen without having to click back and forth. ah decisions... i think i'll have to wait til after the initial reactions and feedback. |

I hear you. I was going to upgrade in advance but for basic it's the same price as just buying the software new! So I figure i'll just hold out until it's released. I'm still expecting great things.

I don't know the guy personally, but I was always impressed with the tone and helpfulness of his email responses to questions/problems back in the day when I first bought Drumagog, all those years ago. I say let's have patience. - c | |

I'm starting to wonder if this is not the "mystery" product that was supposed to be ready for release, but they're afraid to release it, thinking it would be hacked within days if not hours. Maybe they're trying to implement a new authorization scheme into it.

My guess would be that they're working out some details with the hi-hat tracking. That falls into the "how does it know?" category of software coding, no simple feat. |

There is a Drumagog 5 now. Many of us who prepurchased are using a beta version now. It's working fine for me on Win7 (x64) and Sonar (x64). The current beta version is somewhat limited in features, however. It's looking (and sounding) good, though. thumbsup

| Couldn't agree more. Further, it isn't just bad for the consumer to buy a product before examining the competition: by publicly threatening to buy a competitor's product because the original isn't ready for release, we encourage developers to release products before they're ready (in order to beat competitors) and end up suffering as beta testers when we should just be making music.

Here's a video comparing Trigger to Drumagog 5. I was really hoping Drumagog would perform a little better than it did in the video. Has anyone else tried version 5 yet? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IXnxJrVKok |
