I have been using it for a few months now, so i can assure you it's not "new plug in syndrome"

I'm also not just saying this because i'm on the beta team because i'm on the beta teams for pretty much all the plug ins i use.

It really has to be heard to be believed.

Very good EQ... Many features (M/S, different EQ modes from Linear Phase, Minimal Phase, Digital etc...) and no dongle! Has some ideas from other EQs (AirEQ) but IMHO better implemented to make it easier to work with it.
Nice for tracking and mastering and its not expensive.

Yeah, its from ex Sonalksis developer so its a very good reputation for a guy with a lot of experience.

The price must be a joke thats a very, very, very friendly price (Afaik about 80€ as an introductory offer for 30 days?)

Yep, then it will be £100 (still good price imo). Also notice gain/q interaction and auto-listen function among other things

If you have the gain/Q interaction turned up, do Q settings/knobs move when you change gain to reflect the actual Q?

Not sure if I understand the question correctly but q settings don't change (though shape does change with more gain) when gain/q interaction is turned up.

I'm sorry about the poor wording, but I think you answered the question. Let's take an EQ with no gain/Q interaction: the two parameters are exclusive and represented accurately in the graph, by the controls and in the value display.

Now, when there is gain/Q interaction, the Q changes some amount as the gain is changed. But in the case of eQuality, and any other EQ I can think of for that matter, the Q change is only reflected in the graph, right?

Regarding the price, I saw on KVR that the 25% discount runs for 30 days. That would take it to April 19th by my math. I'll be considering it. Also, I assume that if you buy now, the RTAS release is free... I hope, anyway.

Yes, that's correct. It would seem, from experience of people mixing both ways, that it's VERY IMPORTANT THAT IT LIES TO YOU!
So, yes, the precise Q value is never displayed.
I think what really goes on is that the interaction kicks in and guides your hand, in a sense, and updating the Q value as it goes is a distraction.
On the other hand, if a few people ask for it, it's trivial for me to display the interacted Q value on the UI, perhaps as a 1.1 preference? I make that offer with the prewarning that it could well be something that makes your life worse, not better...

Price will go up on April 20th. Nice round date, easy to remember. RTAS release will indeed be a freebie. I'll get on the case with that next week, and give it a week to soak through testing. Hopefully have a 1.1 in a couple of weeks.

Cheers!

Dave.

Thanks for the great explanation, and please do add the option for interacted Q display. I've come to this whole gain/Q relationship thing rather recently. I mean, I was aware of it, but it really didn't matter to me.

Until recently, the only EQ that I had that was changeable in that respect was the one in DP, which I still have, but rarely use. It's interesting because the relation is changeable per band, IIRC.

I now have the Sonnox Elite bundle, which includes the Oxford EQ, and I see what that business is about. I also have PSP sQuad, whose component EQ's have different gain/Q relationships... reminiscent of my various hardware.

I'll probably go for eQuality before the discount ends. Although, Pro-Q was next on my list. I've probably got over a thousand dollars in native software EQ's with AirEQ, AngelTone, Brilliance Pack, etc.

Collecting digital equalizers just isn't very fun for me. I'd like to settle on one and stick. But, I've also got my eye on Flux, Softube, Brainworx and now, eQuality... maybe it's the one!

I quite like what I'm hearing, only problem is to hear it I had to use the fxpansion vst-rtas wrapper, which kinda borks the UI, unless you keep refreshing the plugin window. That, and the crashing. If you're looking for RTAS beta testers, let me know, and I'd be happy to help out!

Thanks, and sounds great.

I'm having a bit of graphic issue with Samplitude 10.21. Trying to change the GUI layout results in a partial regeneration and I have to close and re-open the plug to get back to normal. VST - Win XP SP2.

I've barely scratched the surface with this plug, but I can already tell it's smooth and super high quality, even in the highs. I can't wait to use it more next week!

my lisence hasn't been working yet, but just looking at it makes the impression of a band-solo fun tion when you touch the freq band "ball" (go over it with the mouse and you'll see that only the curves of that band are shown)

The best digital parametric EQ and the last I'll ever need. I have Sonnox, Fabfilter PRO-q, Waves q10, Waves Ren EQ, DDMF LP10, IEQPro. This is the only one I'll need in the future. It sounds superb and has all the bells and whistles one would expect from such an EQ. Great work Dave!!!

As miro explained, but I think it works better than a "competitors" product

Investigating. Looks very reminiscent of a bug I thought I'd fixed a month ago.

hi, I have a PC main DAW and a macbookpro I use for productions in other studios...... What is the licensing agreement? Would I have to buy two or can one license suffice since I will be the only user?
thanks

Heya.

A license is for a person, so one license would be all you need for your own use.

Cheers,

Dave.

Heya,

I've had other reports of trouble with Samplitude. I'll investigate.

Mono version doesn't show up in Logic 8/10.4.11. Stereo works.
