I'm sorry Will, I did not get the Retail Zip thing and even less this new one (the name is already an enigma). Maybe it's just me. I wish you good luck anyway :-)

Hahaha. That's funny on a few different levels.

But also slightly ridiculous. Insinuating that ALL Mac users are 'insiders' in the professional creative industry.

Methinks that for some reason it was just too difficult/costly for you to build something cross-platform or you would have.

I mean come on... A company willfully excluding customers? Hmmm...

Nice attempt at spin though.

Good luck from a Mac insider.

Looks interesting... but confusing. And, perhaps that is just due to the presentation. I have no idea what you are talking about with Facebook, etc. I have never used it. I want something that will be dead simple for customers - like mp3 and CDs. Maybe this is, but it's not coming across (to me) in your presentation.

You should put up some videos on the site to show the cool stuff it can do and actually show it in action.

What's in it for the consumer? Mp3s work just fine on my mac, my ipod, and millions of other devices, plus they're DRM free. Why would I bother to download this?

The commercial side of the format uses Facebook Connect to tie ownership of STR3EM files with over 350 million+ Facebool users.

There needs to be some type of content control, so instead of a standard DRM system, we invented a way to allow users to play their purchased STR3EM files on any internet connected machine by simply logigng with a Facebook account.

So unlike the cries that killed DRM, with this, one only needs to provide others with their Facebook login to play their files.

-Will
I'm I understanding correctly? A consumer purchases files, but then has to be on an internet connected machine and on Facebook to listen to them?

Yes, I am aware you need to be connected to get the files. I just wanted to know what limitations are on the files once purchased. Once downloaded, are they unrestricted files (burn to cd or save to iPod, for example), or are they somehow only playable on a connected computer?

(Sorry, not trying to be a pest...just trying to understand the format)

So you need to be connected to Facebook as well as run Windows?

I'm sorry to say it, but I don't think your platform will get very far with the Windows limitation. Yes, you can run bootcamp, but I bought a Mac to get away from Windows. I want to support this technology, but not at the cost of changing my OS.

Does it work with an iPod?
If it doesn't I predict failure.

First let me say that I wholeheartedly appreciate the efforts that you and your company are making. I thought your Retail Zip was a great idea. But,....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but your statement is not entirely true if you have to play it on your computer while logged into your Facebook account.

I really like the idea, and maybe your Retail Zip is a better example, I don't know. It would be great to sell a single file with integrated CD quality music, video, and graphics (which this is). However, I, and I know most others, don't want to purchase music that must be authenticated through an internet connection to play it. I was livid at iTunes when I found out I couldn't play my purchases on my studio computer that lacks internet connection. They have subsequently ditched DRM, thankfully.

Really? Susan Boyle's 675k units in one week proves that if an artist has a great story, has great talent and generates great demand, product will sell no matter what. The reason that there will be no industry is because the industry is catering to the lowest common uneducated, irresponsible and tasteless denominator most of the time. When the industry sells something that resembles the skills of the average person, then the average person will not buy it.

You are not solving any problems. You have recreated the wheel. You have not formed a new business model.

The business models are up to content providers, the technology can deliver any one of them I believe.
Why not just use Blue Ray for all things? Games, video, audio, etc can work on Blue Ray.
