Post Voxengo GlissEQ 3.0

GlissEQ is a parametric equalizer AU and VST plugin for professional music production applications. The most interesting and unique feature GlissEQ offers you is its filters with dynamic behavior. While when using a normal equalizer you always get what you have set: if you specify a 6 dB boost at 100 Hz you get exactly a 6 dB boost at 100 Hz. GlissEQ offers you a slightly different approach: when you specify +6 dB at 100 Hz, you don't necessarily get 6 dB of gain, filter’s effective gain is adjusted dynamically according to the sound material you are filtering.

Such “dynamic behavior” of GlissEQ’s filters gives you a friendly, assisting equalization experience. Boosting up the highs will not create the fatiguing effect of overload; boosting up the lows will not make things sound mushy. Instead, you will get a pleasant transient-emphasizing effect bringing life and dimension to your tracks. The pronunciation of the dynamic behavior can be controlled via special “Dyn” parameter. In reality, this “Dyn” parameter adds a whole new dimension to the equalizer as you know it!

Beside this wonderful “dynamic behavior”, GlissEQ features real-time spectrum analyzer. Moreover, the spectrum of a track can be exported to any other instance of GlissEQ thus making real-time inter-track spectrum comparisons possible. This can help you free frequency ranges in one track to allow the instrument in another track occupying same frequencies breathe.

  • Filters with dynamic behavior
  • Up to 32 filter bands
  • Multi-channel processing
  • Mid/side processing
  • Preset manager
  • Contextual hint messages
  • Real-time spectrum analysis
  • 16 filter types
  • Internal channel routing
  • Up to 8x oversampling
  • Undo/redo history
  • Real-time spectrum import/export
  • Harmonically-enhanced filter type
  • Channel grouping
  • 64-bit floating point processing
  • A/B comparisons

The DYNAMIC feature is just awesome !

And the new Harmonic and Peaking 4 and 8 filters are wonderful sounding, excellent for deep colouration.

To me it's the best EQ released at the moment. Period.

This went from free to $100 overnight. Granted there's a lot that's been added. I use the old version all the time.

Free to $100? GlissEQ was never a free plug-in.

So sorry, Aleksey. You are, of course, right. I was thinking of GEQ (Overtone). My bad. Your prices, BTW, are always more than fair.

Dynamic How?

Aleksey,

Could you elaborate on what the "dyn" parameter does without giving away any big secrets?

I'm looking for an EQ that will boost a band's gain if there isn't spectral content within the range of that band, but won't boost it if there is already is. For example, I want an EQ that will boost the highs if there isn't much high frequency content in the signal, but leave it alone if there is.

Does GlissEQ fit the bill for this?

Thanks!
Ryan
