Mixing done online with TuneCore/Universal Music Studio..$140?

Has anyone one heard of/used this service?

Tunecore: UMS Professional Mixing

They do mastering too.

What do you think of these services? I'd love to hear an example of their work. I am also not sure they would be the right choice for every genre. Usually rock guys don't get on too well with hiphop, etc.

I think if someone can't mix their own song they should hire a talented local engineer. The service advaertised in the link is AT BEST going to be cookie cutter.

Yikes. Seems to me if your name is listed on that page, you don't really have a career as a mix engineer.

The double whammy 'Senior Mastering/Mixing Engineer' title made me a little queezy. Still, there is a possibility that they're offering a good quality service. I just can't believe people would care so little as to farm out their music, after all the time and effort (i'm assuming) they've spent on it so far.

I imagine/hope that people either don't think it's worth paying for mixing/mastering, or if you're GONNA pay, don't throw your money away on an unknown quantity like this.

Makes me annoyed, but it's only to be expected i guess.

Still, curious to hear their results. I can't find much about that studio online...

Yeah, although if you go and download Tunecore's 'mixing tips' document (which is not comprised of any tips, but more an advert for the exact same service) it says 140 for a 1-24 track... more tracks are more expensive... it seems to vary.

51+ tracks per song - $699.99

So, basically any pop project nowadays would be $699. Not much less than what others charge for indie work.

You're only able to request mix revisions twice, and even then it's only via email.

No thanks! $300-700 (for an average track) is way too expensive considering the limitations and disconnected nature of the process. YMMV.

This is laughable. They should be embarrassed to even offer it.
