Just finished DMDX, which is another

the total sounds to about 1,820...

Here's 30+ here:

Here's an example of the FX coming
for DMD.

LISTEN HERE:
DMD FX Demo
Filters + Reverb.

All drums from Driven Machine Drums...

Likely be included by Wed.

All current DMD users will get an email
for both DMDX and FX complimentary
upgrade.

EDIT:

Here's another example. All DMDX drums.
The BPF is on the drums, the HPF is on the
synths.

Here's some video of the new FX in action. All the drums from DMD... no additional processing except gentle drum buss compression:

Here's the video in .mov format with Apple Lossless Audio... audio sounds better:

CLICK TO DOWNLOAD (18mb)
http://www.mediafire.com/file/omxvwz1azzo/dmdfx.mov

The video showcases the DMD-FX programs encoded for Nebula3 Free. These were captured from their equivalent analog sources. You can hear the filters and reverbs in the video on drum sounds. The real-time control is smooth, but the patch changing causes a slight audio bump. I want to show multiple filters so you can hear the unique quality each one has.

Of course, these FX + Nebula Free work on any source, including guitars, basses, synths. Here's some audio of a synth being processed with the X464 Band Pass FIlter and Demetri RVRB. First 4 measures dry, then 16 measures wet w/ automation:

CLICK TO LISTEN:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/dzmmanyxozg/DMD-FX Synth Test.mp3

I'll be posting the system requirements for the FX soon. The drums obviously work with almost every platform, but the Nebula Free player is a bit more restricted. I know the Mac is BETA now. These FX will work on the official MAC free release.

"Official" details coming soon : )

cheers!

I just finished and uploaded a couple of updates.

The first is 144 new sounds, which I call DMD-X. These use more extreme settings on the hardware for a more processed sounds.

The second update is an effects collection.

DMD-FX:

DMD-FX contains a collection of programs (effects) and a free version of the Nebula player. The programs have been encoded exclusively for DMD to run on the free player that is included.

Demetri RVRB:
10 Spring reverbs captured from a high-end spring reverb unit. Every possible setting was captured and included. The process is similar in concept to convolution reverb, except this is dynamic. There are actually 30 layers of samples for multiple input levels. The ringing of the springs increases as the input also increases. I would guarantee that there is NO spring reverb in the computer that sounds as life-like as this.

3DREV:
These two are custom reverbs based on real spaces, but with additional processing to increase the depth perception. One is a vocal chamber and the other is a drum room.

VNTG RVRB:
Two vintage plate effects, combined with tubes. Sounds great on snares.

DAFT FLTR:
A 12dB SEM Low Pass Filter, captured from a rare and sought after effects processor.

ROGUE 2+4:
Two 24dB Low Pass Filters.

X464 FLTRS:
A LPF, BPF, and HPF. All 12dB filters.

NOTE: The included Nebula player is approved for Windows use, VST only. People have reported success using a wrapper for other formats. There is a link to a BETA version of the Mac player (VST) included. The official Mac release is coming soon, at which point the FX programs will obviously be supported.

So, in addition to the now 1,800+ sounds, there is now some really nice FX : ) The FX work on the drums or any other source you desire.

cheers!

Nathaniel

PS: Any user who's already grabbed the collection will be getting this update within a couple of days direct from me. It is available for any new user now.

Me wants it so badly.
Give it to me! Now!

So automation works with your embedded Nebula thingy?
Thats cool. I could not get the version available on the Acoustica website
to automate in Live8. Your filters do sound really good in the demos.

Btw: I really adore your drumsounds. I put all of them into my JJ Mpc
and its now the most powerfull and versatile drumbox ever.

Actually the sounds motivated me to go back to dance music and found my own Beatport label for that stuff. First release is scheduled end of january.

I even thought about a series of conceptual releases sporting just your drumsounds, compiled to really raw dancemusic to show off the beauty of the sounds. We will see how that goes. I mean, drumsounds are the lowest common denominator of dancemusic. Are they?

They should be coming today to all users! I had to work out an arrangement with the digital delivery to send a mass update (2.3GBs)... the reverbs are large, but very realistic.

Thanks. To my ears, they sound the most realistic of any VST filters. That's really due to the wonderful technology behind Nebula. I'm a big supporter of that platform...

Automation works for me 100% in Cubase. Not sure about Ableton, but there is a forum dedicated to Nebula where those questions could be answered. I'm positive there are many Ableton + Nebula users.

I think drum sounds are very important to dance music. If you take the genres of dance music and strip away the drums, you are left with ambient music, not dance music

Glad these inspired you to go back to writing some new dance music. Best wishes with your label.

Just heard these today! From the little I had time to hear -- these are quality, quality, quality! Buy them if you are thinking about it -- you will not regret it! Great job Entrainer -- and it's nice to see someone put their soul into a project for once -- I can easily hear when something was a labor or love -- or just made to make a quick buck. This, ladies n' gentleman, was a labor of love

Bought 'em and loving 'em. They're already going in my next production, living alongside my GoldBaby stuff.

It's great to support a product that was made with such care, nonetheless extremely useful for my productions.

Thanks Sirocco and Everythinglouder. Glad you enjoy the sounds!

Hopefully some of you have received the updates... I'm personally
very pleased with the results of the spring reverbs. I think I'm
developing a spring reverb fetish : )

After listening to the demo pack, I bought these as well. Nice work!

Also - I'm happy to support someone who puts this kind of effort into their sample library. Your passion for creating these is evident.

This is a complete no-brainer. I'm glad I went through the website (skipped the story.. sorry) because these samples are of extremely high quality. Definitely the best sounding "basic" classic drum set I've heard and is thus useful for all genres.. all.

I didn't even read the thread to the end before purchasing and now I see a bunch of new samples added and some Nebula programs. How on earth can you beat this value for money here? This is an AWESOME deal and I feel so lucky to have stumbled upon this forum topic.

Cheers Nathaniel!!!

Dude, finally someone who gets the whole sampling process.

I make libraries as well and it pissed me off no end when I used to see over compressed, over loud squared off wave forms, bad edited and with several m/s of space before the sound starts..... and these were on well known commercial libraries.

Most convertors sound best about -10db to -6db at 24bit, gives the audio some room to breath and be manipulated.

Your mp3's sound great, I'm doing something very similar only not with drums. It is a total labour of love though and a good case of OCD helps with the hand editing and looping. Your lucky though with drum sounds not having to loop he he

Good luck with it all.

Exactly. Hearing is believing. It didn't take more than 5 minutes to hear the quality in the demo samples.

Looks like a great effort here for some fresh new material for samplist's everywhere. At first the samples seem a bit quite, realistically I've usually worked with alot of very loud samples, but I'm gonna give them a more serious go through a little later... but thx!! Gonna look out for more from this company!

* also I like how you made 16-bit versions for hardware samplers

would be awesome if you made some multi-velocity programs or round robin programs using a recording setup like yours.

Awesome! You'll have a lot of fun with this. There's much more you can do to manipulate the samples. With this collection, I left the sounds dry, without "creative" processing. This way you can tweak them to fit your style. Of course, a lot of creativity went into creating the original timbre and the selection of which analog coloration to use, but I left things like chorus, reverb, etc off.

It's the way of the future... it's the way of the future... it's the way of the future... it's the way of the future.

Good luck with your samples as well.

The samples seem quiet because there is headroom left. This was intentional, as some plugins still don't feature floating point processing or have input level control.

The samples are 24-bit... you'll have no loss of resolution by turning them up or down.

Leaving headroom was a small internal struggle, because I knew some people would immediately think the samples are quiet. Other companies actually master their drum samples to make them sound louder. I don't feel that limiting each sample and distorting the attack transient is the best way, especially on this low a level of music production. Save the limiter for the final full track master.

Just turn the samples up to hear the quality vs. others.

cheers-

Nathaniel

The demo sounds great. Those 100 free samples don't seem to be downloadable anymore. Were they for limited time only?

Thanks Noamix. That link contains some extra sounds that aren't in the collection. I made them for the Wusik Magazine Review/Interview.

The 100+ free demo sounds are at the top of DRIVEN MACHINE DRUMS: 24bit Electronic Drum Samples for GURU, EXS-24, and Kontakt in WAV, AIF

I just checked now and the link is working.

kind regards,

Nathaniel

Here's 50+ new kicks:

Enjoy!

(remember, I leave headroom, so just turn the 24 bit samples
up or down as needed)
