A studio is a financial black hole with good acoustics.

It's only vintage if it works. Other wise it's just old crap.

JS Bach or Beethoven never used auto-tune or comp tracks, nor an eq, a compressor/limiter, a reverb or a delay an analog or digital mix system. All that was achieved in the writing and performance of the music. Obviously Bach and Beethoven were doing it wrong.

Plexisys,

Good call. I'm pretty sure I
setup the delivery and receipt
to include my contact email...
I'll have to verify again.

But anyone who has questions
can reach me here:

nathaniel (AT) drivenmachinedrums.com

or PM me on Gearslutz

I'm working on updating the site
currently... a direct contact will
be established there as well.

best,

Nathaniel

The standard version includes 24bit Wav
and 24Bit Aif. Those should just drag
and drop onto the Maschine pads.

best,

Nathaniel

Cool stuff here. I already got the free files from the other thread and was amazed by their impact.

Then i found this thread. Thought: oh yeah. freebee week until i recognized these are the same.

I checked the free ones again for their usability (i am picky right now as i am saving up for important studio upgrades) and finally pulled the trigger.
I think these samples will generate their money worth and more in no time.

I also appreciate the 16 bit files as this saves me some time of converting these for my mpc. Unfortunately its in repair for about 2 weeks and i cant wait to throw them on to the pads.

Thanks Nathaniel for the efforts and for making this available.
I also wish you and your family all the best.

Cheers.

I also love the fact that you will be selling only 100 copies.

So I hope (am sure you will) keep your promise.

On another topic, I honestly was laughing a lot when reading your uber-hyped story in your website. hahaha It was amusing really. I don't know what people are complaining about here, or playing the big marketeers for. WTF! Just relax!

I have a soft spot for honest effort and true craftmanship. It's in my blood too. Good work, hombre.

Thanks again,
Ivan

m127
Ivan,

Thanks! I'm pleased you appreciate
the organization, dynamics, and headroom.

I totally hear what you are saying re:
"If you want something done right,
do it yourself"

I just want to clear up a point in your
post (which I'm hoping is a simple
typo, and nothing misleading on my
page)

I am selling a total of 997 copies...
not 100. Perhaps you meant to
round up to 1000...

One reason is I want people to have
something special and unique...
like a nice designer piece of clothing.

Another reason is that I've got a couple
of surprises in store for the 997. These
involve some other people and their
creations, so I have to limit it.

Also, I want to make sure people have
access to me for any questions, so I wanted
a number I could handle.

I wrote the letter to communicate to people
like us...
I knew the message would resonate with
the right people for the collection.

My next production will be marketed only
by a big Bat Signal in the sky.

Hopefully people will put 2 and 2 together

thanks Ivan for having faith and taking action,

Nathaniel

ok.... pretty odd number, especially when trying to use exclusivity as a selling point.
But ok! Looking fwd to hearing the samples at the studio tomorrow!

I bought these but have only gotten about 15 minutes to mess with them. So far, so good. I'll post after I have more time with them, including a few samples of my own making.

AWESOME!

Thanks Dan.

Here's a couple of reviews that have come up:

Waveformless: Review: Driven Machine Drums Sample Library

Review of ToneBuilder Driven Machine Drums, a collection of electronic drum samples

I've also toned the site down from the initial launch...

Just finished 144 new sounds that will be going out to the users this week. Creating the EXS-24 and Kontakt mappings now. Very pleased with these new sounds... some of my favorite.

best,

Nathaniel

They sound great.

And just think, if you sell all 997 copies you'll make $75,000 +

Nice

Yeah...

but after advertising, expenses, and TAXES (twice), I'll break even.

Still worth it : )

Come to think of it, I was penalized 50% for early withdrawl, then
taxed on the withdrawl, then will be taxed as a business, then taxed
as an employee of that business...

I think I'm seeing who the winner in this equation is...
Guess that's why they call the man the MAN. lol.

It'll also build a reputation for you, which could help you do stuff like this more and more. People that like this will certainly come back for Part II, and you won't need as much advertising.

Releasing free updates to paid users is a great way to create customer loyalty. But after a while, you should make a second library.

@PlayRadioPlay:
I'm glad you like it!

This is a fine product and I'm very gratified to find people realizing its value.

This man worked hard, held himself to a high standard, dedicated serious time to the task he set before himself, and came out of it with a cool set of sounds.

All hail the obsessive perfectionists of this world.

This is pretty interesting.... I'll have to look into this some more. What styles is this library targeting?

EDIT:
Hey Nathaniel, the Kontakt/EXS24 version is 87 bucks but why is there an extra 6.99?

1.DRIVEN MACHINE DRUMS KONTAKT + EXS-24 w 24Bit audio 87.00
2. Extended Download Extended Download for DRIVEN MACHINE DRUMS KONTAKT + EXS-24 w 24Bit audio (24 months) 6.99

Why not just make it a simple amount without an added amount when you go to buy it? I don't need a 24 month period to download it, btw.

MPCist-

There's a trashcan next to the extended download... you can delete it.

The company I use to process the transactions and deliver the DL link, etc...
they offer that extended download on all products they deliver.

They are rather reputable, FXPansion used them until recently. But it's not my doing.

It's useful... and can be deleted, so I'm not crazy upset. Some people grab it.
