Cinematic Strings Free Demo Patch and Competition!

Interested in getting a hands on feel for what Cinematic Strings really sounds like?

Head on over to http://www.cinematicstrings.com/inde...=63&Itemid=123, register with our website, and you can then pick up your free "Monster Staccatos" demo patch.

In addition to this free patch, we're also launching a competition:

Using the free "Monster Staccatos" patch, create an exciting demo piece which demonstrates the awesome raw sound of these samples. The players nearly ruined their bows and strings while playing for the fff layer, so lets show them some appreciation by using the samples to create something lively and energetic. Don't be afraid to really go all out, and not just strings too - woodwinds, brass, percussion and anything else.

The producer of the best demo by the end of November will receive a free copy of the library, and it's a very usable patch on its own, so really, everyone wins.

To those customers who have already bought it, don't worry - you are also eligible to enter - and will receive your money back if you are chosen as the winner!

Submit your entry to info at cinematicstrings dot com with "Competition" in the subject, or even via the support form on the website will be fine.

Hope you enjoy the free patch! Cheers, and have fun.

-Alex

PS - Technical note - Don't forget, you can shape the envelope by using CC1 - which adjusts the release, and CC5 which adjusts the sustain. So by using these in combination you can effectively shape the length of the samples, which in turn affects the feel of the performance.

hey Alex, I think it would be more worthwhile and not as limiting if we had the whole library as free demo patches. We would make more interesting songs for the competition.

Sorry for noob question here.... but do I need Kontakt 3.5 to use these, or is there a player included with the download?? If I was to purchase the full library, would it come with a Kontakt player, or is that a purchase I have to make seperately?

Many thanks

After using the patch for a while, it's asking for activation. Any insight on this?

probably not the most difficult thing to do in a string library but the patch sounds and plays very convincing! also very good scripting as far as i can tell from the patch and the manual thumbsup

I've had a couple of people mention that they had trouble registering. Michael - what browser are you using?

Perhaps it's to do with cookie settings? If you're using Firefox, perhaps you could try IE instead for eg?

Me to, I had problems. Tried three times. Then I noticed that the formular correctly detected I am in France, but it left me with some weird "state" choices. I then went to the main page an found a more direct way to register (can't remember the path, but the one that DIDN*T work for me was the one you get when choosing "download"). This way worked, I got my registration.

Thanks Alex.

Really enjoying Monster Staccatos! I'm almost done with my submission. The patch really puts it over the TOP!!! Very playable.

I know you said we didn't have to, but I had fun limitiing myself to only use the staccato strings on this piece (as far as strings go). The patch allowed for much more expressive useage than what I have been used to in the past. Good stuff. thumbsupthumbsup

I can verify that it works with Kontakt Player in Logic 9.0.2 / SL 10.6.1 thumbsup

Hi guys, the demo time out is coming from the free Kontakt player, it has nothing to do with our patch I'm afraid.

You need the full version of Kontakt 3.5 or above to use CS without the demo time limit.

Lightbulb Suggestion for the competition;

Alex,

The patch is great, but for those who want to enter the competition, I think that it would be very sensible to offer at least a matching Legato/Sustain patch to go with it - for a perfect match + versatility. Given the choice, I'd rather not add Legato parts from a different library/manufacturer, for the obvious reason -- i.e; I'd want to make your product shine only.

Does this makes sense to anyone?

PS: what are the terms and conditions for submission with regards to copyright/ownership?
