Sweet! A new generation Wavedrum!

(And Waveterm-- do you have one of the few functional Waveterms?)

The original Wavedrum is an amazing instrument ! It´s like nothing else.....very cool.

Yes, I have 2 Waveterms, one Waveterm A and one Waveterm B. Both with 5 1/4" drives.

but... isn't 6.000.000 yen equal to 45.000 euros? that sounds way too unreal.
i'd love to get my hands on one, anyway!

Wow... That electric piano actually looks pretty damn good! I'm curious about the other products as well. Looks like Korg is heading in an interesting direction.

Prices start at around 6 million yen.
60,000 makes a lot more sense!

I've only been mildly interested in anything Roland has made for the last 25 years. Korg has faired somewhat better, but not a lot. I'd put Yamaha and Akai somewhere in between. Over 25 years ago is a completely different story, but these are the people that for better or worse, pioneered digital synthesis and sampling for the masses in the last quarter century... along with Kawai and their US counterparts: Emu, Ensoniq and Kurzweil. Of course, Fairlight, NED and PPG were ahead of that game, but didn't make it to the mass EM MI finish line. While companies like Sequential, Moog, Arp and Oberheim didn't really make it out of the analog era. It has been an interesting evolution. On the average, I guess I'd put Korg at the top of a low heap, even with the modern likes of Clavia, Novation and Access. Don't beat me up if I missed some other pertinent players.

Big time ditto!

Eric Persing used the original Wavedrum for a lot of stuff on "Liquid Grooves"
I never understood why it was taken of the market prematurely back then.

Yes,bring the new one on!

I admire you!

I prefer having root canals than having to uses 5 1/4' drives! lol!

Although I'm pretty sure I have a 1541 along with my C64 in storage somewhere! (gosh,I remember taking up to 20 min to load the Steinberg Pro-16 back when I was like 14yrs or something)

Wow!!!! that is such exciting news...I've wanted a wavedrum for the longest time...I hope this one will sound as interesting and diverse as the old one.

I seem to recall reading in an interview with Eric Persing that recording the sound with a mic of hitting the drum itself was a big contribution to getting a nice wavedrum sound.

Did I just completely miss the movies of this new stuff here btw?

CHeers,

Joe

Yes, if the new one is anything like the original I'm in...I've been hoping they'd do this for years.

Moog seems to be doing fine now...even though they're still making analog products...

Is that the new or old wavedrum?

Please, let's not get confusing here. Total nightmare.

This is wishfull thinking here....

I used a single Korg Oasys PCI card(almost exclusivly on certain things) for years up until very recently...had to give up my OS9 mac from 1998...Nothing sounded like that card.It had Triton sounds...the Wave Drum algo/moog and prophet and 303 modeling...B3's.Vocoders bit reducer's/ step sequencers...everything under one roof and totally tweekable.Paid 399.00 blowout at GC.
With the current Oasys keyboard @ 5k or more,I'm hoping Korg will scale down that Oasys project to something more affordable/economical/ or make another card a la PCI'e(doubtful).I love what korg is doing lately but I don't need a bunch of extra boxes and keyboards scattered about.

The SK-1, exactly! I hope that this brings back the days of people using samplers =live=, creatively...people used to do the most amazing things with SK-1s, right there in front of an audience. Thank you Korg!
