Sean Costello's FreqEcho

I am just downloading this now, but check it out: Sean Costello, gifted algorithm wizard behind Audio Damage's haunting, cascading, billowing reverb Eos, has quietly started his own little company dedicated to his own particular, eccentric sonic pursuits.

For free --- and seemingly as a lark, not part of any overarching, sinister business strategy --- he has released a little psychedelic echo thing he's called FreqEcho.

I haven't heard it yet, but I'm downloading it now. I can't imagine it won't be at least a little bit cool.

With the inarguable sonic jaw-dropper that was Eos under his belt, I think it's safe to say that if you're smart, you'll keep an eye on this dude. For real. He's got ideas.

I tried this some time back and couldn't get it to work in my only VST hosts: Peak and Wave Editor.

added: the new AU and updated VST seem to work just fine! I really like that the up and down shift can be separated left and right... split ring modulation. It also sounds more analog-ish than other digital frequency shifters.

If you listen very closely to this effect you can hear Sean whispering "please buy my product" over and over!

Just kidding of course, Eos is incredible, I'm sure this will be too.

seriously though. buy eos. buy buy buy. consume.

i want to figure out a way to tie in "fish...and plankton...and sea greens...and protein from the sea" but it isn't really relevant. don't know why it came to mind.

Very cool plug. Only got to play with it for a second, but I love plugs that creatively mangle things

Thanks!

Thanks, working now. Had the same thing happening yesterday, couldn't connect. Maybe it just came down to bad timing on my part during site maintenance.

AU or VST?

I will download the Live 8.0.1 demo when I get home, and test things out.

I have both the AU and VST working on my MBP, Live 8.0.1 demo, OS 10.5.8. Maybe it is the operating system differences? Or are you on a G4/G5 Mac?

FreqEcho is the core sound generator here... no editing, played live and then manipulated en masse with the modern digital equivalent of a tape machine, mixer and ring modulator:
