I'm installing it on my non-music production machines, and even being brave enough to remotely install it on my client's machines (non-music), but am waiting to hear the good word from other users before putting it on the main stage...

.8 is a minor update isn't it? Security, networking, bluetooth, etc?

Anything that might touch specifically on audio in some way?

yeah, i wouldn't exactly call this a "new product", nor do i think people are in need of alerting, but that's just me.

With Pro Tools you never know. These updates have been a disaster to some in the past.

umm

only audio upgrade was something with garage band not logic so everyone should be fine, minus maybe pro tools users. if digi did not say its ok to upgrade id wait. Logic, apogee ensemble here all is good.

As always, we Pro Tools users should wait a year for the company to react.

10.5.6 and 10.5.7 were both qualified within a couple weeks, if not days, IIRC. Record time. Hoping this is no different.

Thus was a very minor maintenance upgrade. Don't know why you posted here or what all the excitement is. Snow Leopard-- a real upgrade-- comes in a few weeks.

this upgrade made my fw800 port on my macbook pro stop working. Went back to 10.5.7 and everything is fine again. I have the version with the 400 and 800 ports.

Not that I am aware off.
But that was not the question, which was if we have problems with the new update.
Wello on all the other applications no besides the virus scanner.

Paul

Disk utility permission repair is not working anymore. It analyses the files files and just says the permission differ, it as if I was using verify permissions

Doesn't it say 'disk permission repaired' or something like that in the end though? It does for me.
