here are more studio secrets revealed from the one and only 'engineer of pop'!

Sonic State - News Michael Jackson's Studio Secrets, Grammy winning engineer Bruce Swedien spills the beans in a new book

Friend, co-creator, and colleague, Bruce Swedien was a seasoned recording engineer–plucked from a job at legendary Universal Audio in Chicago – when he began working with Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones on the soundtrack to The Wiz, and he was the master technician who gave the records their sound as the trio progressed to Jackson's greatest triumphs, Off the Wall and the iconic, history-making Thriller, which revolutionized music and video and fixed Jackson in culture as the King of Pop. In the Studio with Michael Jackson is the chronicle of those times, when everything was about the music, the magic, and the amazing talent of a man who changed the face of pop music – and culture – forever. In his laid-back style, Bruce Swedien offers anecdotes about being part of Quincy Jones' extended "family" and reveals the technical details of creating Michael Jackson's biggest-selling albums, as well as Bad, Dangerous, and HIStory.
Including over 100 photos, In the Studio with Michael Jackson provides an insider's look that will thrill anyone interested in the nuts and bolts of hit making and the history of some of America's most influential music.

This book does not seem "Tabloid" to me. I dont think there will be any mentioning of drugs, Doctors or any of that Bull S**t.
This seems more like a celebration of his musical Triumphs in the studio...

In other words, this book would have been relevent even if Michael had lived.

I hope its better than his other book, "make mine music". While I respect and admire Bruce's engineering and audio related talent, thats got to be the WORST book I ever read. How you can make such a fascinating life and career into such a boring, rambling book is beyond me. The optimist in me hopes he'll redeem himself with this one.... Two words, Bruce- Ghost writer!

I found the previous book a good read.
I prefer authenticity over any refined ghost writer blabla.

One could argue if not most of the things having to do with MJ allready have been said in the first book but we have to see...

I´m shure Bruce made enough money over the years that he does what he does just for fun.
I see this new book more as a memorial for MJ.

Let´s first read it and then talk...

I personally disagree with many of Swedien´s points like "compression is for kids" etc.
but anyway I have lots of respect for the man.
