Possible super sized recording / music trade show in London UK, 2010?

There is chatter around that the LIMS show (mostly musical instruments MI)

London International Music Show '09

might take place at the same time and the same venue Excel - London's docklands as the planned UK AES show next summer..

AES London 2010 / 128th AES Convention

This could be what a lot of people have been waiting for -

As well as the AES show for studio gear - you could walk into the next hall and see some guitars or drums..

Kind of like a London Messe show - but with more studio equipment on display..

With the music heritage of London and the UK - pulling in people from all over the world..

Anyhow the scheduling planning coincidence might work out great!

Still unconfirmed though - just a rumor..

What do you think?

I like the Excel centre - its a kind of a trek to get out there but once you are there is very comfortable..

Sounds awesome.

The Excel is a bit of a hike, and the biggest problem is the dearth of pubs around there... it's expensive hotel bars outside, expensive conference centre bars inside (if that) and that's it. So the big GS meetups would need to be more central.

That said, the hike would be worth it if indeed this happened... and the journey would be interesting seeing the sorts of people on the DLR in the morning heading to the venue at the same time as the financial-types go to work in Canary Wharf...

Be great, especially if some of the smaller UK manufacturers like Kenton, Analogue Solutions, Thermionic and so on get a look in!

AES Convention

I can confirm that the 128th AES Convention will be in London, May 2010. But the location is not yet confirmed. It may be in a more central location than the Excel Centre.

The Call for Papers for the Convention has been posted as a separate thread under New Products Alert!
