This is the Tribute 1 - sells for AU$4000. (Ben's most expensive mic to date but still a great price for a 47 clone, and you can rest assured that he will do it right.)

OK, I've gotta say it. TheTribute is one stunningly gorgeous looking mic. Wow. I think Ben's mics always sounded classy, but that one looks hot too.

I hate to resurrect unnecessarily. I tried searching around, but can't find anything in regards to what I'm looking for. I wanted to buy a decently high end mic so of course I ended up with the AK series Telefunkens, MA200, TLM49, AT4060, the Peluso line. In my searches I ran into this mic, which looks to be the most versatile. Looks like you get 2 bodies and 2 capsules. Well, in regards to capsules, I'm pretty sure I want the c12 lollipop and a U47 of some kind although not sure which one will sound the most authentic...however, if I want versatility, which bodies should I go with. I want very ballsy lead rock vocals, which for various singers, I don't see why a u47 type and a C12 type head won't do the trick. However, I need help picking the bodies. Definitely a tube and if I go with a solid state body, it definitely has to be transformer output for some color. Am I on the right track if I want smooth, energetic, creamy, full-bodied...all in one mic?

Sounds like a good plan mate.
I have a U47 (Tribute 1) and a Phelicity (C12) coming soon.
I reckon that should cover all my bases pretty well.

The Elizabeth with 2 bodies and 2 heads would be perfect.

Best bet is to e-mail Ben from his website.

I did. I'm weird though, once I get a bug, I try to communicate till I hear back. I've already PM'd him and e-mailed him. Hope he doesn't think I'm psycho. LOL

I'm Tyse from Loose Stones on the Gold Coast. Matt and myself will be down sometime over the next couple of weeks to look at some of these pieces of art!

Hi Tyse - good to see you here on GS.
Ben makes some great mics for sure - you will come to love them.

BTW - I've been using using my T1 for a few months now and it is superb.
There is something very special about the way it records a vocal.
I guess that is the U47 'mojo' that is so widely appreciated.
Very happy with it.
