after all the disasters on virtual modelling with guitaramps and bassamps, I would like to test it.

Seems to be the IRs that ship with Speakerphone - at least some of them. Very smart and, so far, peerless (particuarly compared to "usual" guitar amp sim to which it may be complementary)

nice. I use metal amp room and TH1 triode. Is the "realistic" feeling of this plugin better then the cabinet modeling in metal and triode?

..it's indeed a couple of the cabs featured in Speakerphone, I think I'd rather buy the SP package than this then....

Speakerphone is properly unbelievable, and the functionality goes way beyond that of Cabinet, would it be only for guitar sounds and treatment. A total beast. The pricing is quite distinct, though...

Definitely a cool and affordable software. What kind of cabinet is that tall piggback looking thing?

I normally love audioease... but man... I am not impressed. Maybe it's the amp they used. It sounds really nasty to me... even for a line out. Wish they would give a comparison of the amp going through the actual cabinet they took the response from.

I didn't hear single tone that I would really use on a record in that demo. Sorry if I am being snobby.... but I wouldn't.

I think you'd be surprised at the similarities between your own guitar tones, recorded through a miked cabinet and posted as MP3s, and what this plugin can produce.

Download the working plugin and try for yourself. Audio demos like this aren't going to impress much.

Same here, I have some "homebrew" that sounded far better. No offense to Audioease, its truly a shame.

I'm sorry, but wouldn't the point of this being plunging a REAL head into these? Like a Plamer? That's the first thing that came to my mind. This isn't an amp modeler, but a cabinet modeler. Entirely different.

So is this plug eight or sixteen ohms ? ? ?
or does it change it's impedance faithfully along with your cab choices ?

(again, couldn't resist)

P.S. HI JULESY ! See you soon yes yes !

btw, most of my colleagues are more than a little sweet on speaker phone...

I have lots of free IRs that sound much better than this, but on the positive side - it's another 59 euros I don't need to spend!

I put this after AmpliTube fender, on what looks like a fender hotrod cab, i have to tell you this isn't close, this really does sound like a real Hot rod to me. That's it now for me, this has superseded my own real amp recordings, and with the control of it being in the box, i dont think i will mic up again.
Amazed.

playing through a speaker with out an amp will sound bad, you have to have a preamp for the gain and distortion, this is a cab sim not a stand alone guitar modeller.

I'll take your word for it, since you seem to be one of the only people who have commented on the plugin itself, instead of the demos. I think the only reliable opinions can come from people who have used the plugin.

I've been using a Palmer PDI-03 for years - quite happily - but I'll run it against this plug today, maybe even throw in a real cabinet.

It all depends on how good your own recordings are. There are less variables in this plugin so it will sound more consistent.

What I meant was that recorded guitar tone, through studio monitors (or worse, "laptops"), whittled down to an MP3, doesn't sound nearly as impressive as it does when played live standing near your cabinet. Guitar sim MP3s, for some reason, seem to suffer more from this than any other audio demos. You HAVE to try it for yourself - there's no other way. If I was running AudioEase I'd offer the working demo, but NOT the audio demo, to help encourage this.
