I look back on the last 40+ sessions I have tracked and that would have been all I needed. I hope my wife does not see this thread.

Be a man! Just get it and let your wife record her anger and frustration into that cute little "One" box thingy.
When she hears how great and accurate her tirade sounds , she'll truly be impressed!

I was just recently considering a Duet to have something high quality on the go
but I may reconsider and get one of these.

amazing features for the price

How on earth they get 48v phantom power over a USB port is beyond me....

I wonder if it may need two USB ports on some computers (?)

Mbox killer with one input and a 1/8" output? Seriously?

Looks like a pretty handy device. Think I prefer the look of Duet though.

I am waiting for Prism Sound to release two products for PC only:

"Solo", and "Two"

Either they can't build same quality conversion at this kind of price point or they really think they shouldn't be playing on the same field as Apogee (to be perceived superior).

IMO they can't be so blind as not to see this is the growth market, and putting a premium brand like theirs on an audio interface at this price point will simply slay everything else.

SSL has successfully moved across market segments, what are they waiting for?

What a cool little product! The only thing I was thinking is wouldn't changing backwards and forwards between headphones and monitors put a lot of strain on that 1/8th" socket?

I'll take that back - I just saw the price. So if you want two of everything you obviously get the Duet... the clue was in the name

Not too slow..Apple has FW in every desktop and laptop save for the Macbook Air.

I think Apogee is just seeking to hit a lower price point and USB chipsets are a whole lot cheaper than Firewire chipsets.

saw one of these yesterday, couldn't tell you about the actual recording quality of it, but the build quality on this is super cheap. Does not feel solid at all. I hope they didn't cheap out on the things that matter most about this unit.

yea...my son has both However if you want to use LE I think you are stuck with the crappy sounding one right? If you use LOGIC or one of the many other DAWs you can use the crappy sounding one or the duet. At least you have a choice with the crappy sounding one.
