New Program Library for Nebula

CDSoundMaster is pleased to present our second release from the
"Vintage Tube Series":

"The Tube Bender EQ Collection" - Completely Tunable, Natural, All-Tube, Harmonic Distortion EQ for the Nebula Commercial Plug-in.

Now available!
CDSoundMaster.com
"The Tube Bender EQ Collection" - $59

Combo -
"The Vintage Tube Collection + The Tube Bender EQ Collection " - $98

Free Fully Functional Presets:
http://cdsoundmaster.com/FreeTubeBenderEQInstall.rar

With our first release in this series, "The Vintage Tube Collection", we brought the unique sound of several classic vintage dual triode vacuum tubes to the Nebula Plug-in, utilizing our completely unique, proprietary-design hardware, the Source + Plus Dual-Stage sound processor. This device, designed to fill a niche in the mastering field and also for multiple tasks in mixing, tracking, and recording, the Source + Plus is a transformerless design, and is completely custom, hand-built, using all point-to-point wiring for the absolute best in analog sound. Several rare vintage tubes were sampled at light, medium, and heavy settings, providing the natural sound of tubes within the user's DAW.

Now, with the second release in the "Vintage Tube Series", we are taking the possibilities of natural tube harmonic software to the next level, showing once again the amazing abilities of the Nebula plug-in! This collection is the realization of the challenge to bring moderate-to-heavy natural overdrive distortion to Nebula Commercial. This is not an attempt to replace your distortion pedal or Marshall stack: This is about fulfilling the range of dimensionality to the sound of valves and equalization. The eq's in this collection are tunable, scalable, and capable of reproducing stunning and original analog eq from clean to fuzzy and overdriven. Every setting was prepared side-by-side with music selections to make sure that all stages react precisely the same in Nebula as the hardware.

The sounds in "The Tube Bender EQ Collection" are derived using two dual-triode 12au7 Vintage Mullard Vacuum Tubes serially connected to provide four stages of completely variable control over gain, volume, gain-staging, and bias. This stage is passed on to a vintage '1073-style' eq where the combination of transformers, vacuum tubes, and eq filters are adapted to provide some of the most colorful, character-driven tracking and mixing eq's ever to take place in the digital domain! Several unique stages of boost and cut curves are combined with the natural frequency-shaping characteristics of the tube gain-staging and corresponding harmonics, providing a palette of sounds that should inspire as well as problem-solve.

The collection includes a unique process we call "TubeShapers", which are completely created by the unique four-stage tube process, balancing gain and overdrive to affect the frequency balance of the signal, providing you with all-tube eq's that you won't find anywhere else! Also included are multiple versions of mid-range bell-shape eq's, high and low shelf eq's with multiple cut-off frequencies, adjustable low cut filters combined with original frequency plots, and several unique preamp settings for mixing and matching signal chains.

The Tube Bender EQ Collection is:

Sampled directly from Hardware
Four Stages of Complex Valve Harmonics
Richly Textured, Extremely 3-Dimensional Sounding
Multiple Variations on Wide "Q" Tracking and Mixing EQ
Transformerless Tube Drive and
Valve + Transformer EQ Combinations
TEN Kernels of Perfectly Sampled Harmonics
Virtually Indistinguishable From The Hardware

Sample song #1, The Tube-Bender EQ Song (wow, watta name!), uses nothing but TubeBenderEQ's for tracking/mixing. No other compressing/mixing/overdrive/etc. Some reverb and master limiter are the only simple mastering. The guitars are placed on an automated slider to change frequencies live to give a phaser-type effect with the drive turned up.

And this second sample song is a quick House/Dance song I put together, affectionately known as "House". Below is a dry mix and the wet mix is exactly the same with only TubeBenderEQ's applied. No other mixing or mastering.

I have also good use of your programs Michael and highly recommend them.

Unfortunately I find it a bit hard to relate to these samples.
I really miss the sound of voices and acoustic instruments.

Will there, as you've done before Michael, be released a few free programs for us to try?

Michael. Im one of the early Mac users of Nebula - however I havent been able to try your programs because of the installer you use. I usually install the PC .exe files using Crossover - however with your libraries I cannot install because on opening the .exe I get a big blue screen with the library name - and cannot click past this. Im not sure why but there is no button so you are stuck. Could you provide either a different simpler installer - or a link for the raw Vector and program files?

This includes your programs in Nebula-Programs also (eg Melcor)

Hi there mljung,

Thanks for that!
I can understand what you are saying; I love acoustic instruments and vocals as well. I will work some acoustic samples in as soon as possible!
Yes, there are free programs:

Hi there, Swan!

I was just made aware of this and am going to provide everything in a Mac friendly format.
Does everyone on Mac use .zip files or also .rar?

I am going to keep an updated download link available for all of the free programs. Each time there are new ones they will be added.

I'm also going to make an alternate Mac download for all of the full collections so they can be purchased direct from the site, but I'll provide a Mac dl location after purchase manually.

Hi Swan,

Here is your .zip file!!!

http://cdsoundmaster.com/Mac_PC_CDSoundMaster_Free1.zip

If you know other Mac users waiting for this please send them a link.

This is all of the current free CDSoundMaster programs for Nebula.

If you or any Mac users find these useful and want the full collections, you can purchase them directly from CDSoundMaster.com, then instead of doing the direct download, email me to let me know you need a .zip for Mac and I will send you to a download that has the program and vector files in a .zip instead of the install file.

As always, the collections are priced to be a fraction of what a big developer would ask; enough to buy myself the hundreds of hours the next release requires, but cheap enough for everyone to get some REAL analog sound in their Mac's!

I'm currently investing in equipment that will be sampled over the next few months, so every bit helps!!!

I hope you enjoy these programs and that they are a blessing to your mixes!

As inspired by your comments here, I've created an acoustic guitar demo of some Tube Bender EQ programs!

"Guitar Stuff" and "Guitar Stuff2" are copyright 2009 Michael Angel

My goal here is that changes sound like natural changes to the music and not sound being eq'd. These examples should sound like enhancement changes to the instrument or my playing and not a filter on a track.

The Samples:

NO EQ:

EQ:

http://cdsoundmaster.com/GuitarStuff...arStuffHi1.mp3

http://cdsoundmaster.com/GuitarStuff...arStuffHi2.mp3

http://cdsoundmaster.com/GuitarStuff...arStuffLo1.mp3
(this is actually an eq cut using the low band eq)

http://cdsoundmaster.com/GuitarStuff...rStuffMid1.mp3

Sample 2:
NO EQ:
http://cdsoundmaster.com/GuitarStuff...itarStuff2.mp3

EQ:

http://cdsoundmaster.com/GuitarStuff...rStuff2Hi1.mp3

http://cdsoundmaster.com/GuitarStuff...rStuff2lo1.mp3

http://cdsoundmaster.com/GuitarStuff...Stuff2Mid1.mp3

I hope you enjoy the listen!

If you need to hear them with better monitoring or just want to compare the sound easier, get the .zip here:

http://cdsoundmaster.com/GuitarStuffMP3s.zip
And yes, copyright 2009 Michael Angel

Next Up- My wonderful wife's vocals to fulfill the other part of this request!

Thanks!
Michael

Ehh... sorry Michael, but I don't hear an acoustic guitar here in these clips.
[to my ears it sounds like a piezoelectric pick-up sound]

If I should get a good picture about the tube bender EQ programs I would prefer recorded acoustic instruments without any other effects than the Nebula programs.

Anyhow I will look forward to the vocal samples...!

Best,
Mads
