Wow, thats cool!

I wonder if it'll work well as a power amp for guitar pre too...

I've been carrying my Nanohead amp around with me a lot and using it for a mono send into live rooms I dig, and setting up 2 mic's for roomverb. It'd be nice to do this with a stereo unit like the impamp. I'm sure it's a total different vibe, but probably more accurate as a room verb than the Nanohead.

I can't tell if this one has a fan on it like the nanohead. If not, I'll probably get one for my Auratones.

hi e-cue! 8^)

there's no fan on the iMP. it's got dual independent linear power supplies for the two channels. the nano has a fan because it has a switching supply.

the nano runs on 12VDC (so it can run on a battery.)

the iMPAMP runs on 12VAC (so it has to be connected to wall mains via an adapter.)

I'm looking for a quality power amp for my Yamaha NS10's right now. Let's see, for less money I could get on eBay a Bryston 2B, Haflter P3000 or I can get this little pedal. Which option do you think I should go with?

For the record, I think Zvex is awesome. We correspond regularly on Harmony Central's Effects forum, for a few years now. The SHO/SD2in1 and Fuzz Factory pedals are well known and loved and his Ooh/Seek Wahs are especially delectable.

But $525 USD for a 1 watt tube-based power amp? Sure, I'd buy it...

...if it had a VF14 tube in it!

While this does have me raise one eyebrow, I've learned not to sell Zach's stuff short until I've heard it. I said the same thing about the Nanohead which is only .5 watts, and the mofo not only screams, it's one of my favorite amps ever. But in that case, it's more of a load-effect issue to get the tubes to hollah, as the kids say these days.

I'm curious, to say the least.

If Zachary releases a mic pre-amp pedal, he can call it neVex.
