It's apparently going to be included with V11.

From the user's board- this is the Version 11 announcement:

***************
ONE LOUDER – ONE BETTER

* Vandal Ampsimulation – the new reference for guitar and bass. Sensitive, warm, crunchy or heavy.
* Audio/MIDI Pre-Recording (retrospective recording) new Advanced EQ with up to 6 bands, optional linar phase mode switchable, adjustable shelving Q
* Maximizer (Upward Compression)
* Studio Essentials – effects suite and structured effect categories in the menu - quick and fast access to all samplitude effects
* A video track for samplitude which offers better performance and compatibility (Scrubbing, Scrolling, CPU), option to show time position inside the video. Still only one video file and only one video object, but with easy offset/start/end setting. (Sequoia can deal with several video files at once.)
* OMF/AAF Import/Export (will be an add-on for Samplitude Pro, but is always included in Sequoia)
* Revolvertracks (AKA “Play lists”)
* MIDI Velocity Dynamics – offline and realtime
* Comfortable Groove Quantize and Groove Extraktion for Audio and MIDI in all directions: MIDI to MIDI, MIDI to Audio, Audio to MIDI, Audio to Audio.
* Compressed waveform display option

Further news:

* Virtual synth BeatBox2 (Step Seq Heaven), Vita (Sample horse power), Revolta (VA-Synthesis just ONE BETTER)
* Docking for transport console, managers, AQ wizard, ...
* no more VSTi limit in Samplitude Standard (similar to PRO in this regard now)
* CPU-Power peakmeter mode for tracks
* New Design for VIP, Mixer, Manager
* Color tool for quick coloring of objects and tracks
* track multiselection and track grouping functions
* new audio prelisten and loading function with “BPM-Sync” option
* MIDI Editor: Option for the automatic selection of Controller data with note selection. Selected controllers are moved together with notes then, for example.
MIDI Editor command "delete overlapping notes" now also deletes "doubled" notes
* Humanize option (random distribution) for Quantization (Audio and MIDI) stepping through VST(i) patches via shortcut
* several time position display windows can be opened at the same time (with different settings)
* a folder track can serve as a a Submix-Bus if desired

Sequoia only:

* OMF/AAF Import/Export already included
* MusYc (Multisynchron cutting tool)
* Video Export Module

**************

Looks like they made a complete new skin for Samplitude. There are screenshots here:

Great new look. Way better than before.

Still looks like Reaper, or the other way around.

I do not like the screen layout and how much space things take up. I would almost need two HD screens on their sides to see all that I like to see.

There are screen modes and mixer snapshots, etc. that you can use.
I have one mode that turns off all toolbars and side panes.
Yes, I'm using multiple monitors, but the other one is used for plugins and/or video.

So far audio quantizing and more real-time transient detection seem improved in V11 - along with groove quantizing from MIDI.

I'm finding the MIDI to be very good and fast. I've made some more requests re: use of alternative controller numbers and hardware interfacing for automation, but overall it's proven useful here.

I'm having trouble getting "Create Midi Triggers from Transient Detection" to work in 10.21. It's supposed to open a new midi track with midi notes placed where transients are detected, but I'm only getting a midi track with an empty midi object. I've tried on 2 different computers with the same (failed) result.

Can anyone confirm? I also posted this at the samp forum, but no answers just yet.

Kraznet has a tutorial for this function using v10.1, and on his video it's a short 2 click process.

CORRECTION: I tried this function on another track and find that it does appear to work on every track I insert EXCEPT the one I really need to work on!

I just testedthis feature again (V10.21), following Kraznet's video, and had good overall results.

I think for one thing it may require having a VST ready to go in the new track and/or setup your MIDI default port and/or playback device setup ahead of time - but I'm not sure.

It DID work for me (although I've only used this feature on two occasions).

Sorry, I have nothing else to suggest at this time.

Thanks Greg. I'm getting it to work on every track I import and try it on, except for the track that I really want to use it on! I can't figure out why that track just won't work. It won't detect transients on it.

Having a midi track set up in advance is not necessary, as it automatically adds a midi track and drops the midi notes on the transient points. It misses many obvious transients however, so it's not fool proof. Hopefully V11 will be 100%.

I was only suggesting adding in a MIDI track ahead of time that was configured as you want so that you can just drop the newly generated object into it - such as i.e. a track already mapped to your drum synth (or whatever). It's just a sort of workaround.

Perhaps the track you're having issues with is not 'clear enough' for accurate detection - is it a kick drum or...?

I believe Magix worked on the transient detection in V11, since they are now advancing the audio quantize and adding in more groove quantize features.
In V10.21 there were still occasional issues with the transients being detected a few samples late (depending on source material). There are still things I would like enhanced in this area as well, but I think overall they're headed in the right direction.

I did try pre-setting another midi track but no difference here. Still not sure why this one track is being a beast. It's a snare track with peaks at -6. Super obvious transients, so it should be no trouble detecting them. Glad to hear v11 making improvements in this area. Very important for drum replacement and/or layering. Thanks again Greg.

Samplitude has a tutorial that shows how to use the audio quantizing feature. It's somewhat like Beat Detective and works very well with a little practice. Samplitude is still my favorite DAW. Running great for me on Windows 7.

So VANDAL was just released for AU and VST Mac - any users out there? Wondering how it stacks up with the usual competition.

Depends on what your wanting. It does the crunchy stuff pretty well. But the thing that all of them suffer at is the real wood tones. The in between tones and those are the ones I use most so I don't use it. But I don't use any of them. Amp head through a speaker and a line out of the head into a separate ch then run an IR with red wirez cabs. Combine the speaker track with the amp head DI into the red wirez impulse and your rockin. Amazing.
