I admit, I haven't a clue, I use an active graphic for sidechain manipulation. Gregory Scott - ubk |

| UBK you rock!
keep the great stuff coming! I researched your posts a bit, and then your products, and now, in one day, I have purchased your UBK Fatso, UBK Gain Train, and UBK-1 Plugin! I love finding dudes/companies like you I can trust. I love the no-bullshit attitude, and straightforward honesty you exude. thanks! great gear! |

| Couldn't agree more, I'm getting the feeling he would be doing this for free :-) Great to have people who actually seem to care when you run into problems too.

Maybe he means something like the JAM'N PEN, which is a pen, an FM radio, and a paper shredder ALL IN ONE! Just like the UBK Fatso, it's VERY EXCITING TO USE!!! ![]() Gregory Scott - ubk |

All you're posts just list it as just the 'Fatso' which this thread is 'penned' as 'not' about.

Oh Ok...the answer to your question is...yes I have...many times...stopped trying to convince myself that either was any good...and frankly they're the same thing to me ( sound the same)...average compression/saturation...and the "mod" is overrated IMHO...like the color though... I mean visually that is Last time I bothered was over a year ago and I've pretty much forgotten about the thing, so I won't be able to give you specifics other than...I wanted to like it, but ended up bypassing it most of the time...one time I left it on..drove the input hard and backed off the output on a guitar bus once...no compression or sat engaged...it seemed to work that ONE time | |

Seems perfectly reasonable to me that someone wouldn't like or be at all excited about the UBK Fatso, or any of my gear. I feel the same way about a goodly number of other products whose praises are routinely sung from the rooftops around here, leaves me scratchin' my head every time. C'est la vie! nope sorry...just responding to others quotes with my opinions...I haven't dug up ANY old threads...this one as the couple of others appeared in the "new posts" section and I responded. and also...what's the big deal about having a dissenting opinion...I love all kinds of gear...and offer lots of positive stuff to the kids on here...in fact what you may think is negative (dumping) is in fact giving the kids some realistic perspective on things. Me personally...I'm not swayed one bit by dooshie gear pimps in here...but others are, and a good dose of reality never hurt anyone. So when I see worshipping at the alter of The Fatso happening, I speak up, because I actually have an opinion about it. The distressor? A classic...The Fatso? a dud...even if changing the color and presets moved more out the door...still a dud to me. |

hello. I own a fatso and have not been able to use it. the manual is so awesome that it doesn't tell me how to hook it up. which is pretty brilliant. it absolutely has no instruction what so ever about how to connect it to an interface. that is ****ing amazing. does anybody no how to hook one up; like, what cables go where? I have an uln 8. it's funny, I've emailed both parties, ubk and mh and I get back stuff that is impossible to do. So, what cables go where into what? the uln 8 has cable snake or db whatever which you connect the mics to. so how do connect the fatso to it and us it for channels 1 and 2. how do I physically do it? what cables? where? where on the goddamn fatso do I put them in and out of? can we at least get me to there, and then I'll email the mh halo morons and ask them to complete the equation.
