I just got my email about it. Based on the demos, I think this may be their best library yet! I'll post more thoughts after I buy it

Buy a real one. They need a lot of service, but nothing compares to them.
I got two and if anyone got a spare lexicon 224 sbc card let me know.

it don´t like the demos. i´m a EMT and L300 owner, where the demos also don´t match the quality of the IRs.

acousticas, what about a better user-offer for EMT "and" L300 owners?

L224XL

Looks like someone beat us to the news ;-)

Yes, we have released the Lexicon 224XL Impulse Response Library.

It consists of 597 IRs, conveniently sorted into 7 categories

1) Hall 01
2) Hall 02
3) Vocals
4) Orchestral
5) Plate 01
6) Plate 02
7) Ambience

We supply ready-to-use presets for the following plug-ins:

Altiverb, Revolver, TL Space, IR1 & IRL, Space Designer, Kontakt 2, Kontakt3 & Structure.

The library is supplied in interleaved stereo wave file format and is compatible with any convolution device capable of reading such.

You can listen to preliminary demonstrations of the IRs here, more will follow soon.

Welcome To Acousticas

Current users have been offered a loyalty discount, which has been dispatched to them via email.

Regards,
Chris

I assure you that all demos of all our libraries are made, using Altiverb and the IRs belonging to the library in question.

The demos were carefully tweaked by the engineers.
Anyone can achieve the same results with our libraries.

But you have to keep one thing in mind, which is that any reverb device, placed, in 10 different audio engineers' hands, will yield 10 different results.
Bruce Swedien, would probably get a better result with a Yamaha Rev 1 than me personally with the greatest reverb ever built.

Eddie, we are already offering our user base an 18% discount on the new L224XL library. Just check your mail and look for our newsletter, which we sent out yesterday.

Chris

i wrote that the IRs are "better" than the demos.

i know there was more work to do for you, but i won´t buy this one right away. the EMT and L300 were a no-brainer, and cheaper

i got your mail and posted here after listening to the demos. i´ll wait for user demos/comments or a price-cut

Things are tight right now but I will say as a owner of the two previous libraries:

-Complete satisfaction with current purchases and all dealings with company

-Very happy too see continuing additions to product line.

-And very pleased to receive 'loyalty' discounts on new offerings, it does make a difference in both single product considerations/purchases and overall perception of company

Been testing on some vocals now and I must say it`s smoooooothh! Blends in very nice with the source (vocal).

IMHO Acousticas best library. I once owned a couple of L300, but now I understand why people have been holding on to their 224`s.

Very nice work guys, been waiting for impulses to catch up for vocal-reverbs.

This is the Library where I have to bite with Acousticas. I'm gonna buy these Lex 224 IR's.

I have the other 2 Libraries and picking the Lex 224 up was a no brainer. I nearly shit myself when I heard it on my vocals, real smoooooth indeed! I have most of the Convo plugz and the installer is incredibly easy, placing the Acousticas files exactly where they need to be. Outstanding support as well!

Looking forward to the next release!!!

Thanks Guys...

With the 300, and now the 224, I say skip it, but they're on a roll.

I can't speak for Acousticas and 480L is real sweet. I would like to see that but I'd like to see the Eventide Reverb 2016 and some Quantec stuff in the near future! All in all, if Acousticas did release a 480L Lib. I'd snatch it up!

Excellent work guys!!!

Dumb question probably: Is it easy to load these into Altiverb? I get all my impulse responses directly from Audioease; I don't know anything about loading impulse responses.

Does this come with instructions on how to load it into Altiverb.

Acousticas libraries come with manual. Anyway, you can copy any folder with impulses inside Altiverb ir folder, then re-scan folder in Altiverb browser and there you go.

Sorry Eddie,

I thought you were implying that our demos were better than the actual product. Happy you find the product better than the demos ;-)

Our "politics", when it comes to manufacturing demos, is to use "bad" sounds so that the source does not "cloud" the listener's objective perception. We strive to demonstrate the capabilities of the impulse responses which is depth and width.

Hi Silver Sonya,

if you use a Macintosh and OS X, our installers take care of placing the files within Altiverb's proprietary locations. All you will need to do after installation is to, from Altiverb's "+" menu (Below its IR Browser to the right), select the menu item "re-scan ir folder".

If you are using Altiverb with Windows, our manual describes, in detail, where to copy the files for Altiverb to find.

Hello, Acousticas! There is no good news about passive eq library? It's just the use of the name of the other company that creates the legal problem? There are some comercial plugins that use hardware impulses with their names a little twisted and apparently they had no troubles with that.

Acousticas,

Like what I've heard and have been following multiple threads. What's the chance of a discounted bundle for all 3 packages. I'd be up for it.

A studio is a financial black hole with good acoustics.

It's only vintage if it works. Other wise it's just old crap.

JS Bach or Beethoven never used auto-tune or comp tracks, nor an eq, a compressor/limiter, a reverb or a delay an analog or digital mix system. All that was achieved in the writing and performance of the music. Obviously Bach and Beethoven were doing it wrong.

BULK Discounts

Quote:

We realize, as merchants ourselves, that acquiring multiple items should warrant a discount. And it will. As of Tonight.

Once the online shop has been updated, clients interested in acquiring all our products at once, will be met with a discount. The discount will be corresponding to the amount which any Acousticas user, owning all three current products, have paid while taking advantage of special and/or loyalty offerings.

We are not going to be offering bundles, ever !

Discounts on BULK; Yes.
Special Offerings and many of them; YES.
Free Upgrades & Updates, as long as we exist; YES

So in a sense, one could argue that we do supply "bundles"

However, in our opinion, gathered from watching other vendors and their bundle-policies, we feel that bundles, in its common form, is something that is very in-stable.

I.e - we have bought many "Everything" bundles in the past years. Only to find that when the vendor releases a new plug-in or upgrade, he makes a new bundle called Everything 2.

We understand that developing software is a costly endeavor and that many companies cannot actually offer and "Everything" bundle and leave it at that.

Surely, an "Acousticas Total Bundle" would be a feisty slogan which would crop interest from many people. But in reality, it is not possible to pursue. Reason is simple; we do not know what the future holds and how many hours we are going to be investing in developing IRs and plug-ins that we dont even know, today, that we are going to be developing ;-)

And we do not want to, ever - have to tell a client, who bought a "Whatever Acousticas Everything Bundle", that he would have to purchase version 2 to get what he should have been getting with version 1.

We try to make fair prices from the get go and make lots of fair offers for loyalty and BULK purchase decisions.

I just bough the 224 and I think it's excellent. The new method of custom stimulus impulses seems to have worked well.

I'm curious if this method will be used for future libraries...? Is there any more info on your approach or is it top secret?

I agree. I could write a book, "Memoirs of a bundle owner." It's a bad feeling to be at the top, and then so easily cast down.

I think for some companies who have a limited scope of products, it's a good idea. But for companies who will produce lots of diverse and pioneering type products, it gets confusing fast.

Acousticas, couldn't agree with you more about the bulk/bundle. I'll wait for the website to update and put my bulk order in over the next few days. Hope it will sell more of your product.
