Alicia Keys Piano

Stumbled upon this today on Scarbee Home Page.

SCARBEE

Also, there's a 50% off sale going on now. Tomorrow's the last day. This might be a good time to pick up that Red Bass I've been eyeing for a while now.

Also the Blue Bass looks like it's about ready to go now. I didnt see any audio demos posted yet, but I'm definitley looking forward to this one as well.

all soft and warm....

I liked the demos... but they were all, for most part, softly played parts.... I want to hear a more dynamic piece also, so I can hear attacks, and hear how the higher frequencies sound when it's played harder. The lower notes seem kinda muddy.. The whole thing sounds like there was a lot of noise reduction used.... I guess we'll have to wait for more demos when it's on her site...

Hey Lukejs,

Yes first demos were played softlt with pedals down.

I have added some more demos - in funk, jazz and pop style...

These are originally made for Scarbee electric keyboards but shows a new side of the piano. Note that there are several small pieces within each mp3!

All dry off course..

www.scarbee-downloads.com/demos/ak/Christian_Vinten_Jam_2.mp3

www.scarbee-downloads.com/demos/ak/Sevan_Gokoglu_Jam.mp3
Songs are by Christian Vinten and sevan Gokoglu

About noise reduction - it has be used so carefully that you can't tell from the original recording. I always use several weeks on this process and tried all the programs existing to get best result. So don't worry! I'm sure you will hear on new demos that is has a lot of brilliance too. That said we aimed for a warm sound - using vintage microphones and vintage Neve preamps.

cheers

Can't wait. I'm still loving Red. If Blue is as good, or BETTER, I'll be in line the first day.

"Alicia's Keys will be released and distributed by the artist herself (So NOT a Scarbee product) and is expected to ship in Q2 - 2009"...

Alicia has gone into the vitrual instrument bidness!!!

Damn...

Loving the sound of this piano in the newer louder velocity/uptempo funkier demos.

Seems like this will be a must buy for me. Getting to the end of Q2 2009 so hopefully it comes out soon. Any info on pricing?

Surprised there isn't more buzz here about this after hearing these great sounding demos.

Praise The Lord...........................Sostenuto Support...
I have been waiting for this since Gigasampler hit the market.
Developers can post all the pretty pictures and videos of scientists in white coats they want. If I don't see the mention of the word sostenuto, I know this is just another bedroom instrument for sequencer Pianists.
A team of the brightest, and most experienced minds were used here.
A live performer, who I am sure is quite picky with sound and feel, one of my favorite sample developers, and someone who knows the scripting.
I could care less about an mp3 demo which is converted anyways.
Just post again when it's time to pay.

Bless This Whole Project..............

Can I call Alicia for support..?.......................................

Listened to the demos again today. These are the "best" (yup, extremely subjective) pop sounding piano demos I've heard from any library.

I own Ivory and like it but I don't believe I can get that sound out of it. Ivory was groundbreaking when it came out but this sounds like another great step up. Won't know for sure till I own it of course though.

The only thing I don't love thus far is the sound of the releases. Hopefully they are adjustable.

Looking forward to finding out pricing, it sure seems like an absolute must purchase from all those demos for anyone needing a great piano for modern music.

Can't friggin' wait for this one. Wonder how taxing it is on CPU?

Still looking forward to hearing more demos of the VSL Vienna Imperial but from what I've heard so far the Alicia's Keys is far better for what I do. I do realize they are wildly different pianos but the sound in general (from what I can tell thus far of VSL's new offering) is just better/at a higher level to my ears. I still hear a funny resonance in the VSL demos.

I really want to love the Vienna IMperial but I just can't get past the honkiness of it. The soft tones are very nice, warm and fuzzy. But, once the player digs in at all, I'm hearing midrange honk that wouldn't sound so great.

This Alicia piano sounds pretty amazing. Looking forward to more info.

Whoa, I hadn't heard the first demos that were posted, the softer ones. Is there a pre-order list I can get on. Now I MUST have this library. I hope Alicia hasn't changed her mind and decided to keep this all to herself. This piano is the best I've heard. PERIOD. And, I've listened very critically to ALL others. Wow. Would really like to know when this will be released and I'm not too concerned about "how much."

Bump in hopes of a release date/pricing.

BTW, I did try to email Scarbee directly (twice) and hadn't heard back. Maybe this information is out of his hands (meaning just under Alicia Keys control) and he just doesn't have (or can't give) any specific release/pricing info at this point since it's not an actual "Scarbee" release.

Shameless plug for Scarbee. The man knows how to sample live instruments. Blue Bass has no pears. I don't own his elec pianos, but they sound great from what I've heard and people seem to love them. If he approached this piano with the same mindset, it will sound great and be very useful.

So when will we see it???

The Nils Liberg demos sound amazing. Was there any reverb used on these demos or just ambient mics? Definitely sound better than anything I have heard including the new Vienna piano.

I'm really starting to worry that they've decided not to release this. But, if that was the case, I would think Scarbee would have enough integrity to take the samples off his website. I just don't know why they won't say anything about it now...??? And, I REALLY want/need this piano. Time will tell.

I wouldn't worry about it. It is not unusual for Scarbee to be behind schedule.

Actually it would be unusual for him to be ON schedule. No worries though - he's a small operation, and a perfectionist - so it''s probably just some last-minute tweaking happening.
