URS Saturation V2.5 ADDS Core Saturation!

URS just updated the Saturation plugins and added some new algorithms..

Among them is the CORE saturation models:
Quote:
Transformer American Core Saturation
The Transformer American algorithm digitally recreates Vintage American transformer saturation found in high end early 1960s recording consoles, tape machines and outboard gear. Try the Transformer American algorithm as a transient tamer. A great tool to fix poorly recorded clicky Bass and Snare Drums.

Transformer British Core Saturation
The Transformer British algorithm digitally recreates Vintage British transformer saturation found in high end early 1970s recording consoles. Try the Transformer British algorithm as a track warmer. The Transformer British algorithm can be a great tool to fix brittle digitally recorded audio.

The American model is already in v2.0. So one additional British model.

Its good though that they are continuing to add to the collection rather than just leaving it at what is already in the software.

None of the CORE models were in any previous revision.

But, it's tough for me to remember exactly what was in 2.0, because I've been using 2.5 beta for months now.

American was in 2.0 . I know this cause I've been using it until today on every mix . Certainly envy you having 2.5 until now haha

I bought the URS Saturation 2.5 version and tried the transformer saturation models, and found them to be thinner and brighter than the other models, which seemed wierd to me. Ive always found transformer outputs to roll off highs and add more body.
I liked the 1951 the best, but wasn't all that impressed with the plugin overall, and actually prefer my old Antares Tube plugin to it. But maybe it will find it's place.
I have yet to try several instances on a buss using a combination of preamp, transformer, and tape models. Maybe that will make it shine.

I just upgraded to 2.5
Can you guys fill me in on these sat models that they use. Are these correct.

Class A Tube Mic Pre Amplifier - MotorCity (Mowtown)
Class A Tube Mic Pre Amplifier - German ???
Class A Discrete Mic Pre Amplifier - British (Neve)
Class A Discrete JFet Mic Pre Amplifier - Modern (API)
Class A Tube Mic Pre – 1951 (Pultec)
Class A Tube Mic Pre – Tape Deck ???
Tape Head Saturation – 15ips and 30ips (Tape)
Transformer American Core Saturation (API)
Transformer British Core Saturation (Neve)

The one's that I like the most now are the British and American transformers they don't distort as fast as their mic pre versions. But I like how the saturation in this plugin is very subtle it doesn't change your sound dramatically but you know that the saturation is there.
