Hi Andrew. Will this set be available at GC/major retailers or only direct?
I am certainly interested - I have EW Platinum Symphonic, VSL Special Edition, and between them both get pretty close to what I am looking for, but not quite there. The playability of EW is great, but I feel like I'm playing someone else's specific performance too much sometimes, and VSL has plenty of control but is a bit more confusing to use for much of the music I create. If this set does the best of both worlds, I could definitely use it.

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing some videos of this! And some more details on the available articulations (and their audio demos).

I will be glad to see downloadable version on the online store (no big deal with these days broadband).
It will save a lot of import taxes (about 22%) and some trees to

Send an email about your shipping situation.
In my case (UK), the only import taxes paid would be on the cost of the dvds themselves (about $20 or something).

Great stuff!

The sordino sound is very nice, as are the trills. The more examples I hear, the better I'm liking LASS.

Excellent, props for releasing pretty naked examples of the library.

The sordino demo sounds absolutely beautiful.

Bill (& Andrew), if you are doing an in-person demo in LA, I'd love to tag along.

Hope you and the fam are well, Bill.

Best,

John

This library does sound amazing. Is there a chance of hearing the portamento stuff with more extreme jumps? Like, say an octave? I really like how VSL Chamber strings handles portamento. Also, I think I read that the speed of the glisses in the portamento is variable. Is that true?

Thanks John - yeah, all is good here. Smoking busy right now though. If Andrew is kind enough to do an LA demo session and let's me know, I'll make sure to call you if it's cool with him.

Preliminary demos sound great, no?

Hey, Bill.

Yes, for the most part, the demos do sound quite convincing. Actually, I find that the smaller a/b/c groups' sound feels more tangible/realistic to my ear than the amalgamation of the sonorities. Just starts to sound a bit thick. Overall it sounds like the next step up from VSL/EW, though.

Cool concept. But I still want to see an actual setup in action. Too many libraries, not to mention the ease of just recording a handful of players over here when needed/budgeted.

Glad things are busy for you!

Best,

John

And if Andrew could shoot it and upload the demo videos, that would be great! (even if it's just shooting the monitor!!)
