I can't wait to hear the new offerings though. That 4th 500 rack could be looming...

Same here with my pair of Germ 50 pres and API 500 rack with Chandler power supply. Rock on Wade!

Great stuff Wade !

Since you've obviously had a considerable amount of experience with 500 series racks and PSUs, could you give some pointers as to which ones perform best?

From what ive seen the Brent Averill racks are by far the best. Solid and well made, reliable, beefy PSU, and pretty quiet....

Hi Wade, this is a bit off topic, but is the Germ Channel now dead or what? Two years ago you tossed out a teaser with pictures suggesting that Chandler would relatively soon introduce a Germanium Channel, here is the link: GERMANIUS MAXIMUS from Chandler I decided to buy a pair as soon as they were out, but since then I’ve only watched you bring out everything BUT the Germanium Channel. I hate to say it but I find this to be kind of annoying, if you hadn’t given us the little tease then I guess I wouldn’t be looking for an explanation, but you did, so how about some info?

This came up on the OTHER Little Devil thread :-) Here goes....

I had been working and working on a multi-tap input transformer for it and it took forever (for the transformer people) to get it right. By the time it was I had the Devils done and other things...

I have it finished but I wanted to work on something new. I have about six things finished and I have hired another designer who works on tubes so we are also starting on the EMI RS124/Altec and the REDD47.

I do have about 25 made that need a new faceplate layout and have some very cool options that the other GERMs dont. I was thinking of doing them as Limited Edition and seeing how it goes......?
???

Im at NAMM now so I might be a little slower on responses but I will!!!!
Cheers

Cool. Thanks for the info. I hope that they come out soon because I'll be getting married, after that I'm not so sure that I'll be able to buy gear as freely as I do now.

Bill.

Looks like I will be adding a wet/dry control to the Comp. Built one up after hearing it on the UMC at NAMM cause it really worked well together...

Should make it even cooler :-)

Not quite yet.

Ive successfully added a wet/dry mix control to the compressor and decided to fit a larger output transformer in both units. Those of you that heard them at NAMM and thought they were big sounding will like them even more now!

Hey Tony
How does this compare to the other Chandler gear ? How has the response been ? Positive feedback or just a cheaper less potent version of the bigger units ?
