List is $1375. (EQ) and $1155. (comp)

Street price will probably be around $1250 and $1050.

There is some info on the brochure thingy. Click on it a few times and it will get big enough to read :-)

They are like all our stuff - some old and some new. The EQ is very much like a 1081 or 33115 eq but is built to sound like wade. It also runs on MUCH higher voltage and that gives it a great tone.

The Comp has elements of our Germ Comp and also the 2264 compressor. I dont think it sounds exactly like either but has a nice tone. I developed some new curves (ie Germ Comp) for it that Im super happy with. I wanted to add them to the GERM Comp if they would work :-)

Thanks for supporting Chandler you *****s! Oh thats another website :-)

Are you working on that? It would be nice if the Germ comp could be upgraded with some additional curves.

Little pet peeve> I wish there was an additional output control on the Germ comp, after the feedback/gain section, to allow normalizing levels between bypassed and 'in'. See you have it on this 500 series comp, but not the EQ?

Since the GERM circuit is a single amp you cant really put typical output fader on it. Putting an attenuator after it kind of works but compromises the sound/headroom.

I have been working on transformer switching that nicely adjusts down output gain as well as noise floor. Im experimenting with a GERM super pre that has more features than I think any pre ever has :-) Was thinking about a "Mastering" Germ comp that can do these things with a bunch of new curves and more.....

Love the sound of the Chandler stuff.

IF people like these I will put out a Little Devil mic pre. It would be priced very reasonably and have the low cut section from the EQ...I would like to do it....

Those compressors look like the perfect fill for the 8 free slots on my API1608! Will they work there? I do not ask because of the PSU-related items. I think about those symetrical / asymetrical / servo / trafo things, that can get in the way inside of this console. For example, my API dealer told me, I couldn't use API550B EQs in there without a modification on the API mainboard, since they needed one more OPamp at their output. But I could use 550As! Strange, isn't it? So how about Your stuff, Wade? Do You know details about that?

Not 100% sure on that. Doesn't make sense that a 550a would work and a B would not.
I thought all 500 stuff was built to the same spec :-) and physically they are in the same package, at least the last time I saw a B...

Im sure its easy to find out. I can make a few calls on monday...Drop me a mail monday/tuesday when you have a second....

My dealer told me, it had something to do with the EQs internal circuit design, regarding symmetry and such things. The 550A EQs were "fully symmetrical design" , whereas the 550B would be not...
I have no clue if this is right...
I only was told, that there would be spare spaces on the desks mainboard for adding an additional OPamp for every slot...

Your dealer was misinformed. The 550B requires no modification to work in the 1608. There is an option to "balance" the 550A and 550B inputs for the console with a 2510 op amp. Both the 550A and 550B have unbalanced inputs. That is all.
