Softube ships FET Compressor!

Hi all!

Today we are finally shipping our newest plug-in for TDM/VENUE/RTAS/VST/AU - the FET Compressor! It's available today at the Softube web shop ($279 for the native version and $449 for the TDM/VENUE version, excl. VAT).

When creating FET Compressor, we set out to make the most accurate emulation of the most famous solid state compressor, and very much effort has been spent modeling the real hardware to make sure that the emulation sounds exactly the same. It sure wasn't an easy task to get this one right but we believe the result is some of our finest work yet!

We have also added some useful features that still have that analog sound - but features that would've been hard or even impossible to implement with analog electronics, such as the continuous ratio, parallel compression, detector filtering and lookahead. That way you will be able to get the best of two worlds.

Sound examples and a fully functional 10 day demo can be downloaded from Softube.

Cheers,
Torsten

Any plugin which looks like 70's Japanese hifi seperates has to be cool!

Now I just need to hear how it sounds.

If its like the rest of your products then mightily awesome will be the answer.

Same here...
I was looking forward to it but after doing the whole iLOK/interlock extensions/demo installer thing etc. etc. I cannot open it (AU) as it invariably crashes Logic (7.2.3)every single time

oh well !

Tippex,

Sorry to hear that! Just tested on Logic 7 here and all is well. Does it crash Logic as soon as you start it or when you try to insert the plugin?

Cheers,
Torsten

Tippex ,

Crash logs reside in Users/Yourusername/library/logs/crashreporter/LogicPro(crash).log , look for the most recent one.

Im sure the people at Softube would find that more helpful......

FYI..

Whoa! Although I'm yet to buy anything from softube, I did try VAR and thought it was exceptional, albeit slightly too vintage-y for most of my stuff. But the quality was great.

Downloading the demo now!

I'm looking forward to trying this, softube make some of the best plugins out there

complete with blend knob, and sidechain eq!

its nice to see a good gui thats not just a rip off of the hardware too

does the demo start when you order it, or when you load it onto your ilok?

narco,
The demo starts when you order it, so you'll have to tell Santa to wait while you're trying it

sevendaysoff,
Yes that's right, we did develop the CL1B.

Thanks everyone for your nice comments, very appreciated!

Cheers,
Torsten

I pretty much worship this company. I own their Metal Amp Room and Brilliance Pack. Pretty expensive still compared to some of the smaller companies (stillwell) out there so its a bit hard to justify. I do try though

no introductory price?? what about a fanboy price? I force your products on a lot of people up here in canada!

Some pretty bold statements made about this compressor in the write up. Very curious to see how it stacks up to the competition.

they may be completely different but still how does this stack-up to the stillwell rocket? which is my goto compressor for pretty much everything these days.

- cool... the price is higher than I would spend for an individual plug-in these days and the interface is a little too cute for me - is it angled like the screenshot, or straight-on? Was there an introductory offer we missed out on?

Torsten,

Are there any plans to make a native version of the CL1B ?

I'll try it, but for that price it better be golden (or platinum).

Just trying out the demo in logic 8. Sounds good so far and the GUI is nice indeed.

I'm leaving town for the holidays so my demo will have to wait until next year

But I second the question about the GUI...is it angled like the screenshot?
