There was nothing in the demo clips that sounded anything like a Pultec at all. I mean not anywhere in the Pultec universe. I have no idea what this plug is supposed to do.

is it useful somehow? as long as it´s a great and useful eq, i wouldn´t care if it´s not a real pultec-eq. (uad pultec also doesn´t sound like a pultec)

I have downloaded the demo last night.

And i'm truly impressed. WOW. That plug got some vibe. I have turned a boring snare into a open sparkling , shizzeling ( does that word even exist ? )
snare sound in 2 sec. It is very colorfull.

I don't know if it sounds like a real Pulltec but an eq that can do that is defenately worth my 40$

I aslo tried the Xbass 4000 and again i am blow away for what it can do for 15$. Really nice way to warm up a bass. Put the free Voxengo Boogex after it with some cab impulse and you got a rocking bass sound for almost nothing

I'm buying both this week.

For those of you on a budget, or not... those plugs are worth a look.

I like their delay a lot, but this thing makes my ears hurt.

Some people at KvR really like it, though, and I like the general ideas behind its development, though the descriptions are too vague to glean any real data about their methods and implementation.

I'm not hearing anything I can't achieve more effectively with distortion and eq from other tools.

While there's alot of truth to that, there is also the fact that it is misleading and misrepresenting to label something with a Pultec-derived name and a look-alike GUI, and use these factors to attract people's attention to an EQ that may otherwise be lost in the herd. I just don't think that's cricket.

What I found telling/interesting is that there's no Pultec in sight on the page with the photos taken during the development of this plugin:
G-Sonique: Pultronic development

Also the wording on the product page seem to indicate that they took impulses from a tube based device, but no indication that it's the certain one they took the name and visuals from (e.g. "... is very similar to the real circuits of the electronic equalizers.")

At least UA's plugins claim (and in my opinion come roughly close enough to validate the claim) to be modelling Pultecs. This seems a little more like blatant deception.

I found it a little warm, nice smooth highs, I couldnt get time to check its Low n Mid parts. So i still need to know that is it useful or just another peace of Eq and i`ll definitely post my experience for my friends who are not in mood to invest much but want good warm results.

Shani.
