Waves Maserati ?

My iLok just went down and I started browsing the iLok.com page and it's zero down time policy.

Have there been any announcements of any Maserati Plug-ins? (In that case I missed it completely)
Looks like something is in the works.

Yeah, read that a while back. Makes sense to have an interview to hype the name and then drop the plug-ins. How did they launch the JJP plug-ins? Just out of the blue or were they pre followed (can you say pre followed?) by a JJP feature/interview on the Waves site?

I did hear from a waves rep in the summer when they were on the road with Eddie Kramer that they were going to start bringing out more plugins based or modeled on engineers top gear, 1 month later after I heard this JJP plugins came out.

I can't wait for more and I hope they include them in the Mercury!!

Ren 2 was combined with Ren 1 to make Ren Maxx.

Don't know about the others...

And after the Dorrough meter pricing stunt they just pulled, I would actually venture to say that these are much more fairly priced (at least, street price probably is...)

Considering that TC Unwrap is at least four times the price and to run natively requires a Powercore, these look like a downright bargain in comparison.

A rep from waves didn't get specific but said that the Maserati bundle "might" happen in a tone that implied it's definite. He also said there has been some "talk" of releasing several more bundles along the same lines.

I wonder what pieces of gear they could take and model? I get the Puigtec and the Puigchild (since they have a history)....which by the way I always thought it would be cool if they would have modeled a channel from his Focusrite console.

Anyway...whatever they model I'm sure it'll look just like it. haha

It's been rumoured in another thread that Waves will release LA2/LA3/1176 plugs in the near future.

Don't know if they were Maserati's though...

Actually I'd like them to release 1176 and LA2A cause my UAD TDM will be dead when I install my Mac Pro .

I'd rather invest in a company that keeps updating its plugs .

I think 1176,la3,la2 have already been done pretty damn good already...unless they do like a blue stripe 1176 or something that hasn't really been done. That might be interesting.

Or maybe they will take a break from compressors and eqs and focus on old school delay units and reverbs?
