Yeah seems to be not working here either now. It's funny though. IT's a spoof of that Downfall movie with Hitler raising hell about Protools and Autotune and saying he wants his German software. lol

I will try and find another link.

I've seen the same video with different sub titles. Hitler was Alex Ferguson (I refuse to call him Sir until Bill Shankly gets a posthumous knighthood) and he was talking about Ronaldo going to Real!

The Pro Tools one was funny but I was nearly crying at the footy version.

Maybe it's just me, but I've never found anything humorous about Hitler... even in parody.

I didn't, I didn't and I don't... nor The Producers - not trying to police anyone else's taste (or lack thereof), though.

Fuddy duddy is a given, but I do find text stammering kinda funny...

If someone in germany did something like that (not the movie but the parody and comparisons) he'd get into a LOT of trouble (serious legal trouble). This is a very delicate matter. Wounds are not healed yet.

Have you visited a Konzentrationslager? It is not funny at all.

I don't think most descendants of the Allied powers would be too concerned about their Axis counterparts' sensitivities. Though certainly many of them did suffer greatly from both sides.

I guess that depends on which Germans you talk too. THere's discussion over at the Nuendo forums and people say (including the moderator) that Germans have a great sense of humor and a lot would find that video funny. Not sure about your comment about "legal trouble". If someone gets in trouble for something like that then that "free" society has other issues to be concerned about.

Yes, I understand your concern. but it's true, if anything is considered racist in germany, the implicated persons are actually in legal trouble - no bull.
That being said, I'm quite sure that this is also, for most germans, a funny video.

Shaman is german and does not find it funny at all.

Not for me as a german ( I find national "pride" ridiculous in every way...)
- but for the millions of hitler´s victims.

Don´t be so stupid !

What does this parody have anything to do with "pride", racism or genocide? So on the same note, would you be offended by a serious movie that had Hitler subject matter like Schindler's List or Downfall (the movie the parody is taken from)? What about the victims? What Animus finds more disconcerting and ironic is people trying to censure, call people stupid and flame people over something that "they" deem is "politically incorrect", which is more dangerous than this parody will ever be. I am ashamed of America's racist past and slavery but I still find it funny when Dave Chappelle does his "racism" skits and makes fun of white people (and all races for that matter). Things just "wiped under the rug" never stay gone forever.

Anyway, back on topic. Protools 8!

I love how these Pro Tools 8 threads all stay completely on topic. At least on the other thread I only had to wade through arguments about ADC...

well i was laughing not because of the video but because of the Protools
users identifying them with the winners
still not realizing that Digi is fighting against the rest of the world

im just realizing that supporting Digi seems like a patriotic duty in the states

hope that UA makes their own DAW so it gets easier for these people
to switch

Just to be clear, I was only saying that I find no humor in Hitler. If others do, to each his own.

I tend to find humor in little and absurd things like Animus and Shaman referring to themselves in the third person - remember "Jimmy" from Seinfeld?

"Did you notice he always refer to himself in the third person. Jimmy can dunk. Jimmy's new in town. Jimmy will see you later."

- now that's funny! Maybe Hitler did that, too...

added: Coyoteous is done discussing this now!

Every thread this happens...

Hey pansies... back to Pro Tools 8. Every thread ends up like this. Save your whining and change your tampons. Complain to your girlfriends or boyfriends not to gearslutz. Some of us are hear to actually share information.

Hey tool, what kind of PT8 information would you like to share?

(besides infantile, locker room whining about what other people do)

Complaining about complaining, now that's really funny!!!
