I like this update a lot. Its nice to not have to mess with a the wrapper.

The new models are really great. At the moment I'm using the 1950's tape deck on an electric guitar. I find you have to drive the input a bit, (which of course you would do with analogue)

But the new tape and trannies sound really good. I'm going to get much more use out of this plug in than I did before.

Thumbs up

Wow unlike the original tube models the new models frequency response isn't flat & changes with the amount of drive. I'll post screen shots soon.

Yeah Transformer American is my new favorite. It's more dense and real.
It incidentally also takes about 3 times the cpu of the other algos (oversampled ?). The tape presets are great as well.

Ok here are the harmonic & FS PLOTs for the new algorithms.
Checkout the new Frequency response sweeps from 0-100%. Interesting.

I think URS is the best option.. Most others only have one saturation / harmonic choice. URS sat has many, It's crazy how much they effect transients. Can drastically change a drum sound.

Thanks rythminmind, just wanted to check as I never got anything here. My ISP might be doing some over-zealous spam filtering, nothing's hit the Junk box here...

After checking again I found it was my error and it doesn't cause a rumble, apologies

I only noticed it because I had a spectrum analyser on the master bus. It was from about 100 hz down.

It was coming from a channel that only had the abbey road comp and the URS saturation plug on, even before it got to an audio region, I have to admit I assumed it was the URS plug and didn't check. When I muted the channel it stopped.

In logic 8.

I just checked with the same setup...

With the Abbey Road Comp... rumble , but from 50 Hz and down
Without the Abbey Road Comp... nothing

I've been using the tape algos a bunch (beta). I can't live without them, use them in every session. The american transformer is my new fave though, even though the cpu is high. Super solid.

FWIW, when I got the beta with the tape algos, I noticed I started weaning off of the Massey Tape Au. This one seems more flexible (with the wet/dry slider) and a bit sweeter sounding.

Just put it on a bass track, ooo-weee. Each 'saturator' sounds mighty different, and with all of them you can already see which type of source material they would work for... and the wet/dry control mixed with the ability to drive the input and control saturation makes this really flexible. The Massey Tape AU is still nice, but a lot less flexible, obviously, and not good for everything, so this fills a real need in the AU world, I think.

I was kind of sore at URS - their compressors always underwhelmed me, and my old N-series and A-series really don't stand up to the newer crop of 'vibey' EQs a la Stillwell and Abbey Road (though they were quite revolutionary when they came out.) But this one redeems them quite a bit, for me...

Hi Tony,

offer sounds good!
But what about owners who bought URS Strip Pro Native already?
Everyone here was hoping the options build in the Saturation plugin would be available in CSP in an upcoming update (version 2?)
Or maybe a small fee for upgrading to a CSP 'Bundle' (which compromise CSP + Saturation 2.0)?

I think it would be very smart of URS to take up this suggestion. I love the CSP and Saturation V1 was alright, but the value to dollar ratio wasn't good enough for me. The added features in V2 definitely make it more tempting, but faced with the choice of either putting $200 towards another $285-350 compressor/eq/channel strip plug, or using the money to by a plug-in that essentially amounts to an optional add-on plug, it's harder to justify putting the money towards the Saturation plug, even though I'm sure it's great (haven't tried V2 yet). A $99 upgrade price for registered CSP users would be great and probably sell like hotcakes. Just a dumb thought.
