Fat Track FIREWIRE - TL Audio to Launch DO-F Interface

I'm pleased to make known that we will be announcing our newly designed IEEE-1394 Firewire interface at the 125th AES convention in San Francisco 2nd – 5th October 2008.

The new interface will be compatible with the new M1-F 8 and 12 channel consoles and also TL Audio’s award winning Fat Track Tube Production Suite.

The DO-F is designed to offer an easy and high quality solution for interfacing TL Audio’s leading products with your Mac or PC based DAW.

With Plug and Play operation with OSX Apple Mac computers and 1 simple driver for Windows XP and Vista PC’s, configuration couldn’t be simpler.

The DO-F provides 24-bit operation at 44.1, 48, 88.2 and 96kHz sample rates, with high quality AD/DA conversion.

The DO-F allows you to access all inputs and outputs of the analogue hardware via just one Firewire cable, making it a tidy, portable and reliable system.

This also means that the Fat Track is no longer just a unique piece of hardware, it is now also able to be a unique interface and the true heart and soul of your DAW.

The DO-F is estimated to start shipping just in time for Christmas and the New Year and can be ordered to be pre-fitted to the Fat Track or new M1-F consoles.

Thanks,

Sarah ;-)

Hi guys,

Firstly, we are definitely NOT discontinuing the Fat track!!!

It is still doing very well and the Firewire card for the Fat Track and the M1-F's should be shipping first week of March. Web page will be coming shortly with full specs and the necessaries :-)

Regarding the rack kit, yes this is an official TL Audio add on kit and it lets you rack the Fat Track into a 7U space.

Thanks,

Sarah.

Thanks Sarah,

I'm looking to use it to fit my Fat Track into an Argosy Raven console, so, it would be perfect.

Are there any images? There is no reference to it on TL Audio's website...

Hello,

Just a litlle question to ask you guys owners of a Fat Track , IF your unit is working 100% perfect.
I am asking this because I bought a new unit 2 weeks ago, and got a problem on the sound on the jack main outputs: sometimes the sound drops or go lower, and then come back .
I am asking this because here another slutz GOT EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM.
I had to send the unit back to my seller so he sends it to TL AUDIO.

Thanks

Sergio

The cards are in and in final testing, we are just waiting for the metal blanking plates for fitting... its all very exciting!

Product page will go live next week, and shipping will be very soon, backorder single card orders will go out first, products with pre fitted cards will start shipping in April.

Please email me with any further questions,

Thanks,

Sarah TLA

I like the idea of the Fat Track but you have to do something about the price for the FW option. The Fat Track can be found for around 1000 Euros but adding the FW option brings it up to 1600 Euros, i.e. the same price range as the Allen & Heath ZED-
R16, although it does not have tubes, it does provide with much more options and inputs.

Dear depulse,

I understand your request and we would love to make it lower in price, but it is not possible, in fact it should be a lot more!

The card contains a number of AD/DA convertors that are the same as used by products like the Lynx Aurora - very high end quality conversion. We also use quality Bridgeco chipsets and all cards are manufactured and designed in Europe.

On the Fat Track FW you get a tracking, summing, monitoring and mix down, compact, fully analogue tube unit, with a high quality 4 / 10 FW device all in one!

The card was originally designed to with our M1F Tubetracker consoles which retail for several thousand pounds, but with some clever thought and engineering, we made it possible to do a card for the Fat Track to using the same lovely components.

On the M1F you can do up to 12 x 14 channels with a fully analogue tube mixing console over one firewire cable. Nice.

Let me know if you have more questions, or email TLA for a prompt response (dont always check online)

Thanks.

Hi Sarah

Wow, this has really taken some time ... it was supposed to be shipping Christmas 2008 ... then a little later I remember exchanging a bunch of mails with you about it & at that point it was supposed to be tested & ready to go and to be and shipping in a week or two ... that was well over a year ago ... then nothing ...

So it did actually come out then ?

How come I can't find any reviews anywhere ?
when did it actually make it into stores ? ...
how many have you sold ? strange that it is so invisible ...

A friend of mine bought a Fat Track a few months ago and at that time his dealer told him that he didn't think the card actually existed at all... !!!

I'm actually still quite interested, but need some feedback from people with real world feedback, since the card REALLY isn't that cheap ...

Can you point me to any reviews, tests, forums, anything at all ????

Hi Grainmachine,

Sarah is not longer with Tlaudio.
I was contacting her and 4/5 days ago I got an email from TL Audio saying so.
I am having a lot of issues with the DO-F card.
I cannot use the DO-F at samplerates above48 kHz. my computer freezes.
I waited so long for the card and now...
