| Yeah I lost my PC version when I moved to Mac...but I just demoed the Sonnox one yesterday...and dam that is nice...you can get a lot of extra db's without artifacts, so I'm gonna have to give them a head to head. I also bought the UAD Precision as a replacement for Elephant but I thin I like the Sonnox better.

| This thing rocks! Highly recommended. That Mac purchase is finally looking like a realistic deal as I don't have to part with my favorite plugins. Yay! Now if only Marquis the compressor would be ported. Please Please Pretty Please! ![]() Cheers! bManic |

| Just upgraded it. I can easily get better results than the Elephant 2 just by using the new EL-UNI algo and 4x or 8x oversampling, also the trans time parameter works effectively for some songs. Nice upgrade!

| What is the EL-UNI algorithm actually? (does it stand for anything?) and what distinguishes it from previous elephant algorithms? I'm interested in Elephant 3, but I always like to understand new features before spending money. I couldn't find any kind of explanation on the Voxengo website. Be grateful for any info! Thanks, Peter |

| I'll report back once I have both...I'll get Elephant before the discount ends...but my Sonnox trial will have run out by then...And got to wait another month for that ...funds are tied up in other stuff right now. |

| You guys wanting the other plugs ported over...I actually sent Voxengo an email asking them if they were ever going to do a Mac version of Elephant...and they said at the time it was definitely on the road map and that was around March this year...so I think there's hope for the other plugs...drop em a line, might g them up a little. |

| Does voxengo have an upgrade path? I have an Elephant plug (don't know if it's 1 or 2) and was wondering. Update: Yep, upgrade is $45. Cool. |

| From the website: "2 GHz dual-core or faster processor with at least 1 GB of system RAM recommended" How DSP intensive is this thing??? |

| Sounds great, but can't beat the Sonnox Limiter imo. Hard to explain, just A/B'ed them, I think they are quite alike, but the Sonnox seems to keep sounding more open (not the same as transparent) than the Voxengo at similar settings. But this is personal. Still a very cool plug, good replacement for Sonnox Limiter if you try to get rid of iLok plugs.

Whilst I found that Sonnox Limiter and Ozone had a real edge over Elephant 2. With ver 3, it makes the Sonnox and Ozone limiters sound a little bit flat and harsh in comparison (when applying around a 4.5db increase in input gain). The Elephant 3 retains more of the air in the sense of the soundstage of the mix I feel, whereas the Sonnox is more about retaining the bite of the mix.

i think voxengo are brilliant and would like to support him. why can't developers all price their stuff more competitively; they will make more money in the long run

| I tried both (Xenon and Elephant 3). I think the Xenon "colors" (not the best word) the sound more, this has been reported elsewhere on this forum. The Elephant seems to keep things more intact. I'd go for the Elephant. |
