Korg releases free M3 XPanded for the M3 - WOW!

Now I wish I'd gotten the M3 instead of the MOTIF XS

Get XPanded

One of new features that caught my eye;

Looks like a major upgrade. The M50 seems to be the new low-end line.

Free or not, that's a damn good upgrade.

I've been sticking to my guns (Fantom X7) because "if it ain't broke..." but Korg is turning the M3 into an impressive little box.

Yeah, It's cool that they can do this now nowadays. One of the new features is a mono piano that's developed for use on live mono systems and was a request from users.
Really nice to hear that Korg are listening to their user base.

Yamaha also released an upgrade of sorts for their Motif XS range several months back but it was nowhere near as impressive.

Korg and Yamaha are going to earn a lot of fans with that kind of attention to customer feedback. As a VERY longtime Roland owner, I'm extremely unhappy about their reluctance to take these kinds of steps forward in the workstation market. Their latest Fantom is a huge upset (there's a very long thread about that on GS). If they ever released anything similar to this Korg update I think I'd soil myself.
