Aes sf 2008!

So, I'm getting way pumped on AES [as I haven't been since 2006] and was just wondering how many of you guys are coming out! Also, does anyone have any parties or events planned either after the event in the city or at their studios? We may or may not have one at my place, but if we do I'll keep you posted.

I went last year and had a blast. Money is too tight this year. I have a baby on the way.

I lucked out and signed up early and got a room at The Mosser Hotel which is like 2 blocks from the Moscone Convention Center (yay, don't have to wait on the bus!). The Mosser has this studio inside of it (Studio Paradiso), I've yet to check it out but obviously will be doing so this year!

We did a booth there 2 years ago, but I'm just going to be there catching all the new gear coming out and hooking up with new suppliers on the floor and of course...meeting some slutz! I'm assuming Jules will be there with the Gearslutz booth...and is maybe planning another Gearslutz party? Last time in San Fran it was at Tony Espinoza's place and we had a blast playing that C7.

If I can afford the travel expenses I will be there.

Let's see, gas at $4 a gallon, my bike gets about 40 miles per gallon, the Moscone Center is about 3 miles from my house.....

If I start saving up now, I might be able to make it.

But that means no more mic purchases until then. tutt

Well it WILL almost certainly happen on that day and we will almost certainly meet by the exit at about 6:30pm / 7pm and we will almost certainly go eat at the Tai Restaraunt "Cha Am" (this big one, not its smaller sister snack bar on the opposite corner of the Moscone) Unless some big studio wants to feed and water 100+ engineers..

But details will get stickied at the top of all the forums..

So you wont miss it.

But make a note of that date now in your diary.

I hope there's a studio party or two. I would love to see some of the rooms in San Fran.

I wish it was in NY this year, much more fun to me in the big apple. Should still be a blast. We gotta secure a good spot for the GS party, any ideas?

hello everyone

I run the aforementioned Studio Paradiso, which happens to be 2 blocks from the Moscone Center where the AES convention is being held. At this time I'm not sure what our plans for AES are this year. Last time (2006) we rented the place out to Telefunken for invite listening sessions. I am hoping to do something similar this year. If scheduling permits I may arrange an open house. Regardless you are all welcome to stop by and check the place out.

thanks

hey jules-

time to make your request from Austin...you want some BBQ sauce or some good local salsa? it's the least i can do for providing us with a couch to rest our weary feet.

cheers,
m.

p.s. Steve Remote...are you listening? i'd love a chance to redeem myself and shake your hand if you will be there. the same BBQ sauce/salsa offer extends to you too.
