delcosmos,

Thanks for posting! I'm a DP user and am looking forward to this upgrade. I hope the la2a sounds good.

finally!

i'm a bit nervous about the new GUI.. as DP's GUI is, in my opinion, one of it's greatest features... but.. we'll see...!

support for RTAS plugins on aux tracks in DP6
so not yet on inserts ?
supports sidechain functionality of AU plugins
but not from RTAS?

can somebody explain?
having the possibility to use 2 formats at the same time would be
a strong point to consider

thanks

I think you can use RTAS in inserts, as long as they are post-TDM. Using RTAS and AU side by side is probably not possible, unless some sort of RTAS-AU wrapper exists. You have to switch the audio engine to DAE when using DP as a front end for PTHD (won't work with an mbox!)

hoped to use RTAS plugins without DAE

Never in a million years. That would be Digidesign letting the castle drawbridge down so the raiders can cross the moat...

Heard the leveller and saw the features st the Musikmesse! Great!

Now DP is a rela hot DAW! But I still hope for some better scoring tools in the next version!

However when it is stable I will definately upgrade.

Best regards,

Andrew

Am I right in thinking that DP still doesn't have delay compensation for H/W inserts?

That'd be crazy considering even Live 7 has that.

I've always adored DP's drum editor; wish other apps copied that!

Don't think it's worth the $350 retail to crossgrade for, but it sure is nice.

Looks like a "quick swipe comping tool" similar to Logic 8.

Interested to see how it works for folks. Quick swipe in Logic works fine for me, but a lot of people had reported problems.

I was very close to buying DP, until Logic 8 came out. Although my needs are well-met, I am always curious about DP.

new to this sight...go easy on me

I "think" I'm liking this DP6, and all it's pretty new colored tracks....
Now, if I can only figure out how to record-enable a track while in the graphic editor......

Anyone?

I've heard from the inside "powers that be" to wait awhile before jumping on board. Lots of the typical MOTU "issues" coming out, only more than normal. I'm happy with 5.1.3 for the time being. I'll take a wait and see attitude while others get the grey hairs. Jump on in a year or so.

Yeah, I had to go back to 5.13 after I figured out that DP6 broke my Sony Oxford plugs.

It's going to be really nice software once they iron the bugs out.

Hey did anybody here get to try out that LA2A style leveler? I didn't get that far with it..
