Waves are offering a 20% discount on the JJP bundle this month. Very tempted!!!

So, for those of you who already have it, what do you think now after using them over the last few months?

For tone they're my favorite Waves plugs. They are very good at adding content without messing up your sound. The eqs are impressive at their ability to be subtle, yet they add a nice hue.

I think some people who tried the eq demos didn't like them because they were expecting them to be strong more like the SSL or API. But because of their curves and unique warm passive quality, you may need to crank them to hear what they are capable of. They're more for broad tonal shaping than carving out a sound. You can turn them up and it only gets better

The 670 is the same in it's own way. It's not as heavy as the new IK model, but sometimes that's what you want.

JJP plugs are pretty amazing - way past the "me too" mentality and onto some very useful stuff. The shocker is that its Waves. Whatever works.

They're great. Love the 670. The EQs are always used... in every session.

660 on vocals, and EQ on whatever that needs rounding off... nice @ smoothing - not in a plugin bad smooth way, but more musical way.

I have the UAD Pultec and Fairchild plug ins. I really like the Pultec Eq's a lot. They have a very nice subtle touch that is very pleasing...a little more analog sounding to the signal chain.

The Fairchild I have less love for. People like Massive Mastering confirmed that it affects the low end too much to be used for mastering. I have used it on a drum buss and obtained great results. However when I A/B it against the LA3A, or V-Series compressor on a drum buss, it somestimes wins and sometimes it doesn't. It really depends on the song and what kind of sound I get out of the drums. It's just a good compressor and nothing that get's me excited. I have preferred it on vocals instead of my UAD LA2-A at times when I want the vocals to stay a little more clearer and less smooth.

I finally had a chance to check out the Waves JJP, and I have to admit that I like them a little better, though this is a subject thing. I prefer the character they offer over the UAD, but with them being similar EQ's and compressors, I think I would rather spend my money on something totally different like the Waves API.

If you look on ebay you'll find them cheaper than the monthly 20% off, all the time. From authorized sellers too.
Just a little heads up.

Any "long-time" JJP users who compared the plugs with IK's? The modeling IK has executed seems to be a lot more accurate than the method used by Waves and UAD. IK modelled the input drive for instance, Waves and UAD did not. I haven't used the JJP stuff so I don't know. Time to demo it I guess.

I know of a real company, that is an AUTHORIZED dealer, that sells plugins for about the same prices (and even lower)... and you don't have to go to eBay for that.
Thanks Tony, I'll be in touch!
