Apogee Announces New Software for Ensemble and Duet

Apogee Electronics is pleased to announce the release of new software for both Ensemble and Duet, available for download from the Apogee website at:

New features and resolved issues that are included in the updates are as follows:

  • Auto Launch - A preference now offers Autolaunch of the Maestro application when an Ensemble is detected
Resolved Issues:
  • Kernel panic issues resolved with Apple Firewire audio driver v. 242-4-7

  • SPDIF Optical connections with Macs now supported at 96kHz
  • HP2 muting issue is resolved
  • Implemented a work-around to avoid a jump in output level when opening Steinberg audio applications
  • General stability has been enhanced

Thumbs up Nice to see the updates.

BrettP,

Thanks for the update.

A question: Is it now possible to rub 2 or 3 Ensembles on one Mac system? I have a G5 Dual 2.7 (PPC). Can they share a bus, or would they have to be on separate FW buses?

Thanks
Anton

I really wish you guys could make the Duet work as an Aggregate device with Soundflower. It is the lack of this ability that is a deal breaker for me.

I had two ensembles
You have to set up one as a standalone and lightpipe to the other ensemble

Apogee Ensemble louder output

i've waited a long time for this update, because the kernel panics was the baddest thing i saw on an audiointerface. I've bought a new mac and an ensemble, because they say it's the best couple for good work and then - one kernel panic after the other,,,,, but now it's gone yeahhh :-)
And the big surprise too: now I get a normal level output. Before I've pump up the volume nearly to the max on my amplifier to got the mix right to the headphone amplifier or to the monitors........

Another great thing is the Euphonic Artist support. now you can control the maestro mixer and input settings by your MC MIX. But at the time i havn't found the master fader for output. perhaps i will find it on the MC Control

Everything got worse for me with this. I got clicks on recorded files before I installed it. Now playback is a mess. Largest buffersize, Duet on Mbp 2.2 4gram, Nuendo. Fresh install of tiger. I do not dare to install the ensemble update.
Any ideas, what might be wrong?
