Naturally they do this two weeks after I pick up an old 101. Oh well.

"bombproof laser-etched black anodized frontpanel" I really doubt it is bombproof. |

Why do they claim "built-in power supply!" as a benefit. GML doesn't have internal power supplies now does it.

Some designers say that keeping the powersupply out of the pre is better (less possibility for introduced noise), I guess they dont belive its true.

Hi, I have owned pair of 101's for a few years. Both power supplies had wiring issues. It seems the wiring right by the base of the power supply started to show wear by the 5th month of road use. Jamie over at Grace sent me replacements PDQ. -J

And if you look here and read the description for GML's 2032 you will indeed see an internal power supply listed as a benefit...

Sometimes those internal powersupplies don't introduce noise to the unit they're in, but they do introduce noise to the unit racked above or below (the toroid's orientation is to emit the interference axially rather than radially). Try racking an API A2D right next to a Chandler LTD-1. I'd rather the API had an external supply as the Chandler does. |

This is all about the convenience of plugging a power cord into the back, noise be damned, isn't it not?
