Waves Studio Classics Collection -- in stores??

It seems like the new collection is only available through the website. Has anyone been able to find a dealer with it in stock?

There are lots of dealers who sell electronically (ie, no box) who can provide it to you in the form of a serial number. Dutchmuzik's listing it on eBay, I'm sure Tony Belmont can arrange it too, and both of them will sell it for far less than buying it directly from Waves.

Yep... I signed up for a $150 NARAS membership yesterday for the sole purpose of getting a 50% discount on a bundle. Today I found out from Waves that their deal expired on 12/31/07 -- d'oh!!

Oh well, maybe the NARAS membership will be good for something else?

Anyone who bought 3 bundles can enjoy 3 bundles merge together, I did that and I'm only looking at $200 max for 3 bundles instead of $600, major upgrade of 3 bundles for only $200 is a killer deal if you ask me.thumbsup

If you've bought all 3 during the NARAS discount (which I don't anyway), congratulation, you bought Waves SCC bundle at killer price.

I guess I should demo some but they have so many different ones my head explodes when I look at their list. I'm a simpleton.

Which URS plug-ins seem to be the "must haves".

If you're stepping into URS, the CSP (Channel Strip Pro) is the way to go.

It's probably still cheaper to buy each product seperately when they do their monthly super reductions. Though the API retails for $1000, this month you can probably find it at $550-600. Unless they eventually do a month super sell on this bundle which I don't see coming any time soon.

I just emailed sweetwater saying I need 40% off list and a sales guy emailed back, then called and quoted me (on the phone) a license for Studio Classics Collection Native at $1490 out the door, no tax... that's under $500 each. I just said that I hate Guitar Center, and would prefer not to shop there if Sweetwater could beat their prices. Dunno... can someone find all three for under $1490?

How about if you already own one of their bundles. I own the SSL. Is it less??

It's definitely lower than buying 3 seperate bundle, altough the best price buying 3 seperate bundles ain't that much different from the price mentioned above.

You'll need to ask for discount from Waves, get the number or something and ask your favourite dealer to give you further discount. Or simply just ask your dealer for discount...

But is the typical "bundle" savings of 30% even realistic when you're talking about rock bottom prices anyway? I mean, I doubt I'd find a bundle license for $1,043.

btw... downloaded the demos over the weekend -- very nice.

The rock bottom price I got from my favourite dealer is around $15xx for 3. The big bundle will gonna be lower if the retail price of studio bundle < retail price of 3 seperate bundles together. What is the retail price for studio bundle?

$2,380 on Waves site. Retail separate is $2,800 -- I think $1490 is in the +/- $100 range unless you're extra special. Anyway, I just pulled the trigger on it so I hope someone doesn't post that they got a (full native) license for $900 or something stupid low.

I was originally planning on getting the SSL and API bundles, do you guys think the V-Series really brings that much more to the table? When I search for people's opinions on the V-Series they tend to be quite lukewarm to say the least. Maybe one is better off just getting the API and SSL separately?

Yes there are upgrades available for any combo of API, SSL and V-Series to the new Classic Studio Collection Bundle.

contact me if interested in an upgrade or the full bundle.

The V series is actually my least favorite of the trio of plugins... Ultimately, it's up to you to demo them and judge for yourself.

It's possible.... You would have to be extremely lucky and patient, though... On a related note, the API is an additional 20% off for February!

I may on occasion talk about some of the products I am a dealer for in my posts.. and that's OK! I sell them because I like them. Not vice versa. It's more fun to talk about things you know and love, then things you don't.

I think "specials" like these always land you right around the rock bottom pro price anyway. It's all psychology -- especially with products which take up no stocking space like a digital license.

If you going to wait for the 20%, it IS possible to get it for around $11xx, you have to look for the correct dealer. I forgot to mention my API was bought during 20% discount month last year, so total I'm still paying less than $1500 in total. They've earn me quite some money so it doesn't really matter how much I pay. I buy early so I got to use them early.

well if versatility is the major deciding factor, this would be the pecking order for me:
#1: SSL
#2: API
#3: V-Series

if SOUND is the major deciding factor, this is my order from favourite to least:
#1: API
#2: SSL
#3: V-Series

so i guess i agree with Tony -- but i still love the V-series anyway

Me either, less use V-Series nowadays. It has heavy flavour that won't get to use on everday track.

However, I really love V-Series on dull string samples to give some old vibes on the meats, which SSL and API can't give. I'm more to the meaty strings than modern one.

I used to do this too, but since I have the API bundle, I prefer the API 560eq on vocals. Actually, it's like I find more use for this EQ every day.. I'm not only using it for vocals, but I use it on allmost all my channels lately.. it's amazing how much I'm in love with this EQ. You could steal my V-series, but don't you try to steal my API or SSL bundle.. tutt
