Very dark and mysterious - at least on my monitor.

Sorry, this is just a quick (less than perfect) sneak look of our test model for the feel of it....of course we cannot give away all the secrets just yet. We want to share our progress over the next few weeks as we prepare to do our official launch. Should have a spec sheet in a day or so. We appreciate any feedback! Cheers.

It looks kind of gimmicky and budget-minded to me but I do like those old school meters, useless as they are. I know looks can be deceiving though so I'll stop at that and wait for the details to pour in.

The designers are Kevin Burgin and Travis McDaniel, Kevin was the winner of a 2006 TEC Award for award for Signal Processing Technology/ Hardware
for the Portico 5042 Tape Emulator. Kevin has worked as co-designer with Rupert N. for the last 10 years. Travis was also at RND for several years as well. Mind you the exterior is stuff we have been toying with and we have chosen to share some of our creative process as things evolve...we like militaria, bikes , cars, Pancho Villa candles ect. and some quirky themes have come up in meetings....things like a "smack" feature.
Did I mention we shot machine guns on our lunch break today. Really!
Tape Emulator with new design may be next...

We hope to maintain a sense of humor and have some fun...as well as build some great gear. Imagine going to work with 4 of your best friends every day and doing something you all believe in. There are some great things going on in our industry today and we all feel fortunate to be doing what we enjoy.

Thanks, we were thinking old school USSR type stuff like the knobs and such.
Again...we want to have some fun with the image and make great sounding gear.

Old Austin never died...it just moved South! We do a lot of work and gear testing with Stuart Sullivan at Wire as well as Chet Himes at ASM, both great South Austin guys and very good at what they do. Look forward to meeting you!

I can safely say NO to that one! We umm... borrowed most parts from the KGB through a very discrete supply chain.

Reminds me of moscow right after the curtain dropped. Went over there and among other things, toured their exposition park (can't remember what it was called) showing off all their military prowess. Although I was less than impressed with their military know how, they had lot of cool rack mount goodies (mostly hand wired and tube) all throughout that looked very retro and a lot like your compressor. Good luck.
