Lightbulb Ethan Winer's Music Video Production DVD

After 15 months of work, my new music video Tele-Vision is finally done. What began as a fun follow-up to last year's Cello Rondo video has evolved into an educational DVD product having more than three hours of mixing and video editing advice! This page on my site explains all about it, and also has the YouTube link:

Ethan's Music Videos

I also have a "hidden clues" contest with more than $1,000 in prizes, and that too is described on my Videos page linked above.

I hope you enjoy it!

I just watched the tele-vision video. You've got way too much talent Ethan! That was really crazy stuff and fun/good natured all at the same time.

Could we borrow some of You to Europe for starting a branch
of cello players making acoustic elements without the overseas
expences? 1-3 should be enough, more welcome!
Nice video and many thanks for your advice during the
years

ha that was entertaining.

one thing though, I wasn't sure about the mix, perhaps your monitoring isn't very accurate in the low end, you might want to look into getting some "bass traps"

LOL, actually, even in crappy mono through computer speakers the kick and bass are well balanced and clear. Of course I'm biased!

Rented!

But I had to buy the Captain Kirk shirt, the purple disco shirt, and the wigs. My friend and camera guy Chuck Scott supplied a lot of clothes too. If you saw my cello video you'll know I'm a terrible dresser. I have a half-dozen RealTraps shirts, maybe two pairs of pants, and that's about it!

Awesome job! Watched the whole YouTube piece and was entertained the entire time. As someone who does both music and video myself, I can tell you definitely spent WAY too much time on that project! But, it looks like it was worth it!

I love your bass traps and knew you were also a musician, but didn't know you could play all those instruments that well! Makes me want to sell everything and become a truck driver!

And a good build up it was, I was getting a little nervous about the mastering ...

I hope nobody will think I'm over-promoting myself. I promise this is the last time I'll bring it up.

I just created a 7-minute trailer for my Tele-Vision music production tutorial, to augment the DVD description on my web site and clarify the educational aspect. Basically, there are two music videos, plus three hours of additional content showing in detail how the videos were made. Here's the trailer on YouTube:

YouTube - Tele-Vision Trailer

And here are links to both videos on YouTube:

YouTube - Tele-Vision
YouTube - A Cello Rondo

The educational content on the DVD ranges from intermediate to advanced, split between on-camera technical explanations and screen-cap videos showing details of EQ, compression, reverb, etc and other mixing decisions. The tutorials cover both the audio and video aspects of production including video editing, green screens, lighting, using multiple cameras, and much more. It's not a beginner's how-to guide for connecting a microphone to a sound card but will be useful to anyone who wants to see how a sophisticated video production is put together.

The main Tele-Vision page is here:

I certainly don't mind, and I just went ahead and placed my order! Love all your Realtraps I got for my studio, and happy to support your great video work as well.

I'm looking forward to checking out the instructional sections on how you put this all together. I'm using Vegas 8 as well to produce some instructional videos of my own, and have become pretty decent at it, but I'm sure I can pick up a few more tips from your video to help make mine even better.

Keep up the great work! I wish I could play just one instrument as well as you play any of the many instruments you play on that video.

You know I'd take you up on that right away if we weren't on opposite coasts!

My video showed up on Monday! Very fast turn around. Unfortunately, I've been too busy already editing video from a big shoot I did on Sunday to watch yours yet... but I will be soon!
