What are you talking about?

Reaper is nearly completely skinnable.

Now Ableton Live on the other hand IS butt ugly (to me)...and all you can do is change the colors.

Hehe

BTW, I just did my first album using only reaper and mainly reaper-plugs. It's coming today from mastering engineer, guess how many hours I slept last night... Aaargh

P.S. ME sayd that the only "negative" side of my mix was "loose lowend", I guess that means control of kick and bass in mix? Punch?

I've used Reaper for a very short period of time, mainly because I'm on a mac and the mac version is a little... crippled yet.
But, as soon as the mac version gets ready for prime time, I'll probably spend more time with it and I'll hope to leave all the other DAWs I'm using at the moment, just because the program is FAST, stable and honest!

Yes I'm interested in Mac version too. But I heard that audio editing was not a feature of this particular DAW.

Maybe I'll finally download this and give it a try sometime soon. I'm currently running Sonar 6.

That's what everyone seems to say about it on both platforms, but when I tried it for the first time yesterday it hung and crashed scanning my DX plugings from Sonar on my PC(I have other DX plugs that I use besides Sonar's), and my VST layout is an unorganized mess in Reaper.
I'm mainly interested because Iv'e seen reports of people using it with Linux which I'm contemplating migrating to eventually. I will give it another go and see if I can suss out the problems.

I've already sent in my $40 about 6 months ago because he said I was good for a while, I think I will open it back up and see if the UAD-1 cards are working better. They used to not work well but maybe he has fixed it by now. I really like reaper and think that it will be my long term bitch.

Should be much better with the UAD. There are now two multi processing options and most recently added is a feature that lets you disable multic core support for a single track. This should solve all issues.

dug real deep into Reaper yet, but what I'm seeing is pretty fascinating stuff.
I was beginning to think I was one of the only people that uses/loves Nigel! No one ever mentions it.

Looks like it is time for me to try Reaper, finally! I wish there was a Mac version too. I use both platforms. I use PTLE on my Macbook Pro. I'd love to be able to box that up and sell it!

PS - How do you like Samplitude? I came this || close to buying that this year. SONAR 7 has trumped everything for me now, though. It is REALLY good...I mean REALLY good.

I think Reaper will make a great mobile solution. Looking forward to trying it finally. I am worried about the UAD-1 thing though.

I have (4) UAD-1 cards working perfectly in REAPER 2.014. Full auto PDC through the entire signal path and with the UAD-1 Compatibilty mode enabled, in REAPER's VST Preferences, no native CPU munch.

Cheers,

Billy Buck

Hi Billy Buck.... You're also a Sonar user, right ? Could you tell me what some of the differences are between sonar and reaper.... is the workflow better.....or .. what is the deal with this Reaper software...I'm intrigued by it.....does it have a 64 bit mix engine, like Sonar ? can you tell a difference between a mix done on Reaper and one done in sonar ? Gracias ! Luke
