Apogee Ensemble Mobile

Apogee Electronics: Products: Ensemble

Battery Powered Pro Recording
Power is supplied with an industry standard XLR-4 connector, while still giving you the option of plugging in with the included external AC to DC power adaptor with a standard IEC input.

Ensemble Mobile is as flexible as you are and will work with any DC power source with voltage between 11 and 16 volts. The power requirement is 20 Watts maximum or 1.7 Amps at 12 Volts, giving Ensemble Mobile an average of four hours of run time from a 7AH battery.
Stand-Alone Mode:
Ensemble will now operate without a FireWire connection
to a Macintosh*.
Ensemble's Stand-Alone Mode offers professionals the option to use their Ensemble as a high-end converter and mic pre, independent of the computer

What's Up With This?

Is this being released as a regular product, or will it remain a special, made-to-order premium priced product?

I got mine about a month ago from Nathan at Atlas.

Works great with a 12v Bescor battery belt.

What kind if digital outs does it have? If they took this one step further and gave it AES or symphony IO, I would get one next month.

Me too!!!
I need AES!!! an actual 8 A/D and D/A with 8 aditional AES I/O Box.
Rosetta 800 can only accept either digital input or output through symphony and that has been the reason why I haven't moved to symphony yet. I need a nice system where I can keep my high end converters and use aditional channels from an apogee box, but affordable. A Rosetta that could do the 8 channel digital I/O.... maybe with some pre's a la ensemble.

Come on apogee!
Give us something soon!
