Toontrack Music reveals sneak peak of Superior Drummer 2

SUPERIOR 2.0


”The New York Studio Legacy Series”


Long in the works the interface and feature set of Toontrack Musics next professional sample engine for drums Superior Drummer 2.0 together with the all new sample libraries included in the first release ”The New York Studio Legacy Series”. This sneak peek includes the unveiling of a number of features, parts of the interface, the recording teams and venues.

Superior Drummer 2.0 has been re-developed for optimized use with e-drums with more effective use of sample layers and much improved loading times. It has also been fitted with a new interface with the simple handling and lay out of EZdrummer but with in-depth features added such as:

All new construction windows with features such as:

• ADSR
• X-pads - Load instruments from any Toontrack library to add positions or to double instruments on the position of your choice.
• The ability to read and combine all Superior and EZdrummer sound libraries.


All new internal mixer featuring bussing capabilities and with built in FX delivered by Sonalksis such as:

• 5-band EQ
• High and Low pass filter
• Gate
• Compression
• Transient Designer.

Superior Drummer 2.0 will include custom MIDI played by Nir Z accessed through EZplayer, and feature stand alone capacity through Toontrack Solo.

Superior Drummer 2.0 The New York Studio Legacy series was recorded by Pat Thrall, Neil Dorfsman and Nir Z at Hit Factory, Avatar Studios and Allaire studios, NY.

Pat Thrall, Neil Dorfsman and Nir Z have between them over the past three decades worked with artists as diverse as Meatloaf, Celine Dion, Nick Lachey, Sting, Bruce Springsteen, Dire Straits, Beyonce, Björk, Kiss, Joss Stone, Genesis, John Mayer and Chris Cornell.

Toontrack projects a Q1 2008 release. The team at Toontrack wants to convey their gratitude to all our users who´ve been waiting patiently for this release.

I find it odd that they have already discontinued Superior 1 and version 2 is still 3 months away at least. The drums definitely sound a lot better though.
