Lightbulb Hi-END GEAR Pro Audio Conference 2007

HEY GEARSLUTZ !!

...maybe some of you have already seen the banner here on GS...or read about it in a magazine...
but especially for all the European slutz we`ve got interesting news:

The Hi-END GEAR Conference,
a new and independent tradeshow for studio recording, mixing and mastering gear,
will take place for the first time, this October in Cologne / Germany.

In addition to many exhibitors of hi-end analog outboard, there will be a
focus on room-acoustics, monitoring, microphones, plus converter and
clocking technologies, too.

The events will highlight more than simple product-demos, in fact,
well-known, professional producers and engineers from across the globe will
discuss and offer personal insight into their private working methods,
recordings, and sessions of their recent hits.

As another bonus, discussion panels, lectures, and personal contact with
manufacturers and audio-experts all complement the conference within a cozy
and familiar atmosphere, and this also differs from the currently established
and overcrowded fairs.

There is an immediate change taking place in the music industry, which makes the
approach to maintain the integrity and quality in music production most important.

It is our belief that the Hi-END GEAR Conference although a small show, will
become a grand step in this process, where professional producers,
engineers, studio staff, and students, alike, will enjoy the exhibition,
while they check out new gear and make contacts with other professionals in
the business.

Hi-END GEAR
Pro Audio Conference

October 25th - 27th, 2007
Altes EMI-Presswerk
Cologne, Germany

I will have more information on participating exhibitors and workshop-guests soon!!
for the latest news & updates on exhibitors, workshops and panels please keep an eye on:

Hi-End Gear | Hi-EndGear | HiEndGear | HighEndGear | High End Gear

I hope to meet many of you at the show....
I´ve been organizing this more or less on my own during the last 7 months.
After realizing that many, many others just like myself miss a tradeshow/conference in the spirit of e.g. the TapeOp-Con here in Europe...THERE IT IS

PS: just for your interest....my regular GS-membername is "Tomdarude", and besides starting the Hi-END GEAR, I have no other affiliation with any manufacturer, magazine, distribution, gear-dealer, etc. !!

A big thanks to all the friends and people, that supported this idea along the way so far !!!

Cheers, Tom

Okay folks, let´s spill the beans......

here are the wonderful people that will be doing workshops @ the Hi-END GEAR 2007:

"Commissioner" Gordon
(US)
(50 Cent, Lauryn Hill, Damien Marley, Whitney Houston, Joss Stone, Jay-Z etc.)

Andy VanDette - Masterdisk (US)
(David Bowie, Beastie Boys, Moby, Garbage, Aretha Franklin and many, many more )

Phillippe Weiss (CH)
(Wyclef Jean, Mousse T., Roni Size, Billy Crawford, Beastie Boys, etc.)

Fab Dupont (US)
(Toots & the Maytals, Lucy Woodward, Bon Jovi, etc.)

Sascha "Busy" Bühren
(D)
(Seeed, Beatsteaks, Curse, Xavier Naidoo, Nena, etc.)

Jem (D)
(HIM, Madsen, Virginia Jetzt!, Miles, Klee, Tele, Readymade, Donots etc.)

Andreas "Boogieman" Herbig (D)
(Wolfsheim, A-ha, Juli, Reamonn, Mel C., Roachford, Deichkind, etc.)

for the actual schedule please visit: Hi-End Gear | Pro Audio Conference 2007

I think we have lot´s of different and interesting people & topics covered!

and although the actual workshops will be more about the personal tricks, secrets & attitudes of the engineers & producers, about soft skills or even about business reality in 2007,
I´m sure we´ll also hear some stories about great gear and how to succesfully use it

Of course, we´ll have the workshop-area outfitted with fully functional set-up, including:

*SSL AWS900
*ProTools HD / LogicPro
*SurrounTec "mono:log" Fullrange Monitoring
*a few selected outboard pieces
*MB-Akustik absorber panels

Come and see !!!!!

In addition to the recording/mixing/mastering -workshops we´ll have some fine people doing lectures on specific topics:

Jim Maher
(Owner of Sterling Modular) will be talking about acoustical issues at the mix-position

Jürg Vogt (Owner of Vovox) will be talking about the differences in cables and which aspects have to be considered in this often "controverse" discussion.

Andrew Simpson (SimpsonMicrophones) will be launching a whole new concept of microphones, which he describes as:
"The radical Model A microphone, probably the biggest step forward in microphone design since the 1950s."
.......really looking forward to hear it, andy

Uli Apel will be talking about the essence, secrets & daily use of "tube technology" in audio gear....all in his analog remote recording truck
(full of vintage siemens, telefunken, neumann etc. stuff)

Sweetspot-music
will also have their fully loaded remote truck at the show, open for anyone interested in the "Remote Business"

and third (though still not a 100% confirmed) we might have also the chance to show another truck loaded with the supermodern SSL C100 digital console !!

stay tuned for the news on our webpage
