Digging the DVD!

I gotta say that this DVD is worth the money! I've watched all the footage. My only complaint is that the screen shots of the computer are pretty lo-res, but you can get the idea.

The Pal DVD's are now in stock! Half the orders shipped on Tuesday, the other half (Shane/Russ bundles) are shipping tomorrow.

Thumbs up

This is the most realistic Mixing Video!
Very well done, real world, not hype at all !

The production is great and is a very natural video for mixing.

I was happy I did not get dizzy with video EFFX ...in this video you can relax and just watch how the mix naturally evolves...no games, just mixing!!

I just finished watching the DVD & I wish there was someone who could explain some of his editing techniques to me. He moves very quickly & efficiantly, but being new to Pro Tools , I can't figure some of them. He has some great automation shortcuts among others.

The DVD is really great though.

Thanks for the compliment(s). I'll pass them along.

One Pro Tools feature that Shane uses alot is the smart-tool (F7+F8). When it is engaged, the tool changes depending where you put the cursor in relation to a region. For instance - Place it near either of the top corners, you are able to draw a fade. If you have two regions adjacent, you crossfade by placing the cursor between them, at the bottom...click and drag.

If you're not familiar with the smart-tool, be aware that it is also quite easy to move a region (via grabber "hand" tool), among other things. 'Nuff said.

Just got mine in today Chris. Disc #1 will not work at all. Please rush me another one. This really bites. I was expecting to get going on this right away. Has there been a consistent manufacturing problem ?

We haven't had any actual failures of the video disc. Sorry for the inconvenience. I'll ship another disc to you first thing tomorrow.

I'll have to go back and look. Did I mention we just started working on "Shane Wilson's Guide to Tracking?" It's the companion DVD to Shane's mixing DVD (shot the day before).

A big thumbs up on this DVD... Just watched today. I managed to make time for it in my extremely busy schedule.

It was well worth the watch and highly recommended to anyone interested in the field.

Thanks to everyone for the making of this...

btw, I am also an owner of the Russ Long and MILAR tutorials.

Q4 this year, possibly sooner. Depends on if any re-shoots become necessary. Thanks for the interest...and the bump!

Ive had problems with uk Customs & excise before on imported goods that have been defective. If you buy outside the UK and have to return goods you have to pay the duty on the replacment and then claim the duty back on the original defective item.

Like I said a download option would be great

How is the tracking one coming along? It's been, what, 2+ years?!

I hear a lot of good things about the 2 videos that are for sale, but I would rather wait & get all 3 at once.....

Thanks for asking. The tracking DVD is available, although not on our website (which we are updating this month). Email me here to purchase a copy: sales@audioinstruction.com.
