Clearly it must be a complete channel strip, with a preamp, DI, four band eq and compressor, all in one slot, of course.

Either that or an "Recording" light in one slot.

OK, serious guess--truly a channel strip but in two rack spaces.

No, it's a punch-in device with a built-in clapper. Clap, Clap, Record. You just can't record claps.

NOOOOOO ITs a really cool slot filler with knobs and lights ala Funk logic so that when you buy that eleven space rack and two modules your rack looks full for the price of one 512!

What do you think it is? You should get 16 of them anyway because David has some really great ideas on deck. I'm sure he would appreciate your business.

It's a "Producer's Control Box" all the knobs and switches do nothing to the audio, but LEDs light up in different patterns based on the settings.

I'm sorry but that's not it. However Brad has named our first module the "Audio Throttle" and I think that may stick...

audio throttle, eh?...and you said "hmmm" in that 500 series fader thread...

a fader module that can either be passive or add "mojo" with the flip of a switch? man i wanna know!!

"Audio Throttle" does sound kinda like a distortion unit, though...hmm...

Think about what the function of a throttle is and you'll probably figure it out.

Can't wait to see what this is. Don't know if this is exists or how practical it is, but how about an 8 slot 500 series rack with a built in mytek adat out card next?

I figured it might be an attenuator, but I doubt you need FF to design one of those - so, who knows. When do the beans get spilt? Okay, I just skimmed back to see it has an opamp, is affordable, and that it might be a throttle/fader. No offense to atticus, but this thread reminds me of the whole Seinfeld - "show about nothing" bit.

thanks for the update. normally I think that posting in this forum is pretty lame... getting excited about "new products" on gearslutz is an exercise in consumerism far beyond the normal overload that occurs here. but this one actually has my interest. thanks!
