is it me or is that price a tad steep? I bought the everpack a while back and I thought that package was the price of tape! I could be wrong though.....guess I'll stick with AC1/AC2 for now |

I remember trying to get my everpack authorized...that was a nightmare, (nothing against the company, I use the valve and wide plugs all the time...they are really good) Just with the authorization and cost..... I will probably just step sloooowwwlyyy away! |

been playing with the Tape demo on a couple of mixes.. and i'm finding i'm liking it quite a bit... it seems you have to be careful adjusting it, which i think is a plus... because it allows control to have it be pretty transparent but also you can push it for a really analog sounding subtle distortion which was a bit too much for an entire mix, but may be really nice for individual instruments. it seems to be a totally different beast than ColorTone Pro... which doesn't have the pushing features, imho... hmm.. tasty indeed.. back to playing...

I wish they were for PC. Watching MILAR got me interested in them as well.

But DUY tape is totally in another leauge. I have logic on my macbook and just trying the DUY demos out - it's THE best tape plugin I've heard period. I have done some great mixes, getting much more from the plugin than I expected. I'm buying and going over to the Logic land. Unless they have a vst version for mac, I'm a cubase user - but have several years of Logic experience in the past, so in any case it doesn't matter - I'm getting these plugz some action. I'm glad they came to the "native land". -Johannes

I also use Logic Pro on a Mac G5, and I installed the demo, but when Logic was going through its Audio Units verification, it hung on DaD Tape and I couldn't get past that. I tried several times, but the same thing happens. Anyone else have that problem, or any suggestions? Thanks.

i gave in and bought it.. i've been using it on a track i'm working on and really, really like it... and have a feeling i'll be pretty upset in 12 days when the demo expires.. so i just bit the bullet.. i think it's a wonderful tool.. it can be pushed a bit with pleasing results. i haven't tried it on vocals, but i bet it could be really sweet...' |

Last year I emailed DUY *3* times regarding my iLok authorization and NEVER got a reply. Totally unacceptable. You have been warned. |

I just bought the Tape Plug last night. Got everything within the hour. ilok asset was delivered this morning. Less then 12 hours for full authorization. I think thats pretty good! I was wrong above. As an upgrader that VAt was dropped at check out. the total was 293.00 I also bought the Everpack last year and that when very smoothly. Then last march I did the upgrade to use iLok, no hitches there either. I did however have a problem last year before I bought anything. I had emailed asking a question then never got a reply. i guess they had some serious server/web problems at the end of 05. |

"It's coming out of the ass' ass!" :D In this case, yes - emlulator's emulator. Interesting thing is though - it sound very different when using it with colortone pro, voxengo pristine space, or for example SIR - with the colortone sounding the best, followed by voxengo and SIR not sounding good at all with the same impulse.
