The guys who make that box are from (Lexicon) right. DrDeltaM you are correct. I remember reading about it in Resolution a while back. The display says it all.

They only had one algo showing at the show, but looking at the box and hearing what they had, I was quite impressed.... Shows a lot of promise.

Their box was not really functional on the floor. As fifthcircle said, there was only one algoryhthm working and we could not tweek it. Kind of hard to hear the subtle tail on the noisy AES floor. I talked with one of the engineers for a while and they way they are aproaching the reverb sounds great.

The box looked good...

Too soon to tell.

RE: "One Algorithm", there will be anyway only one Algo at the final product...the unit at the show had only one preset.

i emailed them one time for a price and it was over 3k US ..so i think they have them...i would love to hear it

They don't have them just yet but they are coming within a month or so. The price is just a bit over $3k USD but from everything we've heard so far it's definitely something to keep your eye on.

Yes, it has been a long time coming! We have been hard at it for over two years now, and have gained an appreciation for how much goes in to creating a new product. We told folks at the show to anticipate demo units becoming available in January.

I would like to thank all of the folks who stopped by the booth at AES this year, we really enjoyed hearing your impressions of the box.

We had the basic algorithm up for listening, and we are currently finishing up the user interface, and creating presets.

We have received a few requests to get on here and discuss the specifics of the box, and would be glad to do so, but we hesitate because it's all in the hearing of the results really. It will be much more comfortable discussing the unit on this forum after folks get a chance to demo it in their own space.

my .02, which may be worth even less to you, is that you find a way to get past your hesitation and consider looking into the power of the buzz. it's a completely new world than when lexicon first started doing it's thing: word of mouth is everything, and places like this are petri dishes for the infectious lust a remarkable new product can inspire.

i strongly recommend reading _the purple cow_ and the last chapter of _the anatomy of buzz_, both of which can be gotten thru in a leisurely afternoon at a cafe. it could mean the difference between a satisfactory product launch with focused brand awareness, and an insanely hot, heavily backordered product launch with saturated brand awareness.

What I heard at the AES show was amazing. They had a true stereo hall running and the tail was smooth and transparent. Anyone who's using Altiverb needs to listen to this box to see what the high end sounds like. I was listening in headphones, but it sounded like the source was right in my head and the reverb was 10 feet in either direction. I'm not a professional engineer anymore, but I've worked on a lot of reverb units over the last 10 years. In my opinion, if the unit did only this hall program it would be worth the cost.

They also had a unit opened up in the Analog Devices booth to show off the six Blackfin chips they're using for DSP. For what it's worth, TC's Megareverb in Powercore can run on one SHARC chip, which is roughly equivilent in DSP according go the AD engineers. (Something about floating point versus double, it went over my head.) Six chips just sounds impressive, like a V6. They had an ambience program loaded in this unit, but I didn't get to hear it.

The LED display looked bigger than I expected from looking at their website. I expected a slightly bigger version of what's on the 480, but this was much bigger, filling the height of the rack space. Very readable. They're still on target for the remote as well, but didn't have one or a picture of it.

I had been thinking seriously about a TC Reverb 4000 for my studio, but now I'll be waiting to audition the Bricasti.

I also got to hear it at the show and loved what I heard. If your a reverb loving freak like I am and have to have the best, this is surely one that you will need to add to your list. I thought it had a lot of the same mojo as the AKG ADR 68k and Roland R880.

They were showing a non-functional box at last years AES in NYC and they told me that it would be good to go inside of 6-8 months...shipping in a year or less.


Sounds like it's still in a galaxy far, far away for now...

We will be building the first 100 units this month. These should be in the hands of the distributors in January. Some of these have been pre-sold, but we are working very hard to make sure that all geographies will have units available for demo next month.

So, we have just this week begun our first production run. We did not get started before the holiday break as we had hoped. It looks like we will have the first 100 units completed in mid february.

Brian will be at NAMM with a system. I am cranking on software testing right now. If I can get enough work done in the next couple of weeks, I will come out to CA for the party and throw a unit down.

You can imagine how much I would like to get out there and share the sounds (and a beer or 2...).

Bottom line is that we are about a month behind, but the process is moving ahead smoothly, just a little slower than planned.
